It's possible that the dev's are waiting for results with rF2's new developments being that both titles share DNA as well as general upgrade paths (+DX11 / VR). Efficient use of resources is vitally important for small studios.

I thought Automobilista is using the older engine which is what the rF1 is and not the newer one which is rF2?

You are right, even though the current RF2 is born from RF1 and AMS will be born from the same they will go in different paths so to speak.

That's true but, I don't know if it necessarily means the graphics API upgrade doesn't work to some extent with both titles saving considerable work in the long run. Maybe it doesn't work that way but, if it can - this evolution of core game-engine may be pretty compatible.

I like that funny fairytale about VR not being possible with DX9.
Scaven did it and keygetis did it, too. Both are working on their own.
Richard Burns Rally is 13 years old and keygetis made a perfect support within 3 days.

Can´t be that hard, if two guys can do it on their own.......it´s a little shame for reiza.

Sector3 (R3E DX9) has now added VR support as well so it's clearly possible. Still, I can't blame Reiza for waiting to implement it until after they make the switch to their next graphics API.

VR will wait and it has a lot of maturing to do over the next few years. Focusing on the foundation that lies beneath and ultimately supports AMS and all of it's features is the right thing to do.

It's possible on DX9 and always has but it's not supported by Oculus (not sure about HTC), so any future updates they release could potentially break VR on DX9 which would cause havoc for a short period before the Devs of those titles fixed it....if they could! Hence it's not really worth it if you don't have the staff (like Reiza) and especially, as said before, that a new title is on the horizon any way.

Can u guys plz stop with telling bull**** to other ppl ? Steamvr supports dx9 and oculus 1 to 1 there is not diffrent. even lifeforspeed or r3r runs without any problems on the rift as long as u get 90 fps there is no diffrent if u use steamvr or oculus tool.

Maybe ok on steam VR ..But if you use oculus home VR that does not support dx9.. but the oculus tool works in steam VR .. although i think LFS has it working with oculus home.. but not sure as i do not have LFS :)

Yes, LFS has direct Oculus VR support (DX9), with 3D mirrors too.:)

Hi Dean thanks for the info about LFS my VR sims are A/C.. dirt rally..and Re3 and rf2 in q1 2017 dx11 and VR..but my go to sim was AMS pre VR CV1 but alas i do not drive it much now . once you use VR hard to go back to a flat screen and i only have tv .but i know when AMS gets VR it will be back to my no 1 sim... IMO the best sim :)..and rf2 a very close 2nd;)

I know exactly how you feel; fortunately, having triples is better for bridging that gap in my case but, I feel for those that are having to wait for VR. I don't play LFS but, I've been impressed by how well Scawen has kept it relevant within the context of adapting it for VR use.

I uninstall automobilista coz no VR, and the wait is too long!
iracing is perfect for that, a lot of fun.
I don't expect to have VR on this game.
    Hope for the next one.

As you appear to of missed the point of the discussion entirely, here's some lunchtime reading from Oculus themselves explaining it:

I tried using Virtual Desktop to replicate triple screens in the Rift and while it looked fantastic I could not get triple screens with or without the Rift to work without massive judder.

It was cool to see massive triples in VR without bezels though. :)

I´m really losing hope in this. No news regarding VR from Reiza for nearly half a year.
It´s really a pity. When rF2 get VR Support, AMS will be the only good sim without VR.

    AC - check
    iracing - check
    RBR - check
    LFS - check
    RF2 - check
    Dirt Rally - check
    Raceroom - check
    AMS - wtf?

They are not even giving us news about it. I don´t like that.
