    TLDR
The in-game lobby list shows different servers on each refresh
    • This makes it erratic and hard for people to fund servers reliably
    • It does not appear to be server specific as our server and other peoples come and go from the list although some seem to show more reliably than others.
    • It does not appear to be user specific as 3 people I have asked have confirmed the same issue (one in UK, one in Italy, one in Australia)
    How to test / replicate
    1. Go into the multiplayer lobby
    2. Sort the list of servers by clicking Lobby Name
    3. Take a screen grab or screen snip (use windows 10 "snipping" tool) of the list you can see
    4. Refresh the list
    5. order it again
    6. compare to the previous screen grab
    7. repeat several times and the list changes each time.
Any user can test and confirm so if anyone has a moment please follow the procedure above and respond below to help diagnose the issue and see if it is widespread or not.

    The details
I am the tech guy that runs the servers for AMSUnofficial.

I noticed this issue you yesterday. We have run quite a few AMS2 events and this is the first time this has occurred and since I spotted the issue it has still happening 24 hours later.

So I noticed that our server was not showing in the list. Had no idea why and thought something must be wrong with the server. After about 4 hours I realised that our server was showing in the list erraticly.

Sometimes it would be there more often than not (so on 10 in-game lobby refreshes most of the time it would show). Other times it would not show in 20 refreshes.

I also realised at this point that it was not just our AMSUnofficial server that was showing and disappearing but the whole list changes on each refresh.

This means it is not server specific but it could be maybe something at my end (client / user specific).

So I asked 2 of the other guys I work with to test. I am in UK, one guy is in Italy and one guy is in Australia. Both see the same thing with the server list showing different items on each refresh.
    My results:
    First attempt:
Note the list is alphabetical A-Z but server admins put a blank space at start of their list to make their servers appear at the top. The space is not shown in the lobby list.
Note the size of the scroll bar on right/
    upload_2020-11-8_15-20-2.png

    Second attempt:

Side bar is a little longer than 1st attempt indicating fewer results returned. This time the AMSU server shows. the following other changes occur (none of the following are AMSU servers)
    • FClassic, GT3&GT4, PRocar, ACC Belgium are missing
    • ams2italia, Autoclutch, Automobilista 2 Italia and cmsracing are added
    upload_2020-11-8_15-22-27.png

    Third attempt:
Note scroll bar is shorter indicating more results returned than previous. Compared to second attempt
    • AMSU Server is not showing
    • GT3&GT4 is back, Procar is back
    • RWB Events did not show in attempts 1 or two and now shows
    • ams2italia is missing

If I repeat this 10 or so times the list is different each time

One additional comment. I found this recent post reporting what sounds like the same issue on this forum:
    Invisible online lobby

Does not seem to be consistent for me. Changed at first refresh. Same servers on the next ones.

So I've been talking with a community that now races AMS2 but used to use PC1 and PC2.

They said this issue is due to steam region and is present in PC1 and PC2.

    Here is an example:
    [No] Multiplayer region locked?

The servers are registered against the steam databases and apparently and this affects which ones are returned making it erratic.

Not 100% sure this is the problem but it certainly seems related and possibly a carry over from PC2.

The OP is right - there is something fishy going on here.
I just made one refresh between these two pictures.
The onle extra thing I did was to sort the lists after participants (click on safety helmet).
The two lists are not completely different - but...

Thanks @BrunoB Again that confirms the issue. Hopefully Reiza are aware.

@Heitor Facuri Cicoti Not 100% sure you are the right person but any chance of passing this on?

So far everyone who has posted is experiencing lobby lists that change on each refresh. This is making it hard to find servers as sometimes they go to join an event and the server is not there.

only Bathurst and Velopark have switched places, the rest are empty lobbies.
also your first post, little changes in the populated lobbies.

    @Nobkins
I also took some screenshots but none of them had any illogical position changes,
I can imagine that all empty servers get the same index so that there is nothing to organize, and the order is therefore random.
    nothing strange going on?

You are right that the populated lobbies does only change order but keep the same numbers.
I have not gone through all the empty lobbies - but the original problem was that some lobbies (also among the empty) was left out or did disappear with any new refresh.

Yes the problem is servers disappearing completely.

Our servers and others. You can't join a server if it is not on the list and it is not just populated lobbies that are re-ordered. I list the changes at the end of my first post and it clearly shows servers disappearing.

I am ordering by server name NOT by number of drivers.

Just to add sometimes the size of the scrollbar changes significantly which is an obvious indicator that either a lot less or a lot more servers were returned. I highlighted that in the OP as well.

Still, just some empty servers are not listed.
None of the populated servers disappears.
It can be a problem if you want to join an empty server, which i never do.
It probably saves me time that I don't have to wait to refresh a list of empty servers when I press the refresh button.
Shutting down of empty dedicated servers could be a workaround.
I never understand the endless list of empty dedicated servers,
You could also start your online race in the multiplayer lobby.

I agree fully with you that this endless empty server list looks completely bullocks.
Hehe and it has allways irritated me :p
BUT if you are driving a certain car (& track) that almost never get used in MP mode then this is one of the only ways to (maybe) gather a few drivers wanting to turn some laps in a "secret" combination.
As I see it all these funny empty servers does only serve this purpose.:D

ByTheWay: I have a few timed joined one of these empty servers with either the F-Reiza or the F-V10G1 and a track I did allready know - and after some minutes (10-15) a few other drivers joined. Oh and one of them was actually so fast that I got problems with my self esteem :p
