I'm not hearing any audio from the spotter or engineer. I saw someone else's video where both were working. In Settings > Gameplay > Display I have both set to Always. In Settings > Audio have the Pit Radio Volume turned up. In Settings > Gameplay > Authenticity I have Radio Subtitles turned On. The subtitles work correctly but no audio. What am I missing? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
You probably saw someone using the CrewChief App, because so far, the spotter still not working at the game.
My CC spotter only starts spotting on a 2nd lap, is this normal or am I experiencing a bug on my side?
CrewChief works for me when I'm not in VR, but not when I am in VR. Would anyone know why this might be?
I had this and discovered that crew chiefs audio was set to come out of a different audio device as opposed to the VR headset
CC will use the default sound playback device. When you start SteamVR this will be switched over to your headset. Either start SteamVR before launching CC or enable the "use nAudio for playback" option in the CC properties screen then select the appropriate device from the playback drop down menus on the CC main screen
Hi, I'm interessed in some spotter, I'm still missing it. It was a good feature in AMS1. So, some questions: -how to implement Crew Chief into AMS? Just install and it works? (plug & play - haha, too nice to be real) -how does it work, uses it the ingame spotter messages (text) and calls them or has it its own messages? -is Crew Chief for free? -at Crew Chief there is no AMS rubric, which is similar, ACC or PC? -and, of course, is it worth to have it? Thanks in advance
Crew Chief is absolutely worth it, almost a necessity. Not only does it provide valuable information but it also adds to the immersion. You can even ask for specific informations like remaining fuel, deltas and such. He even mocks you if you drive like S*it You can download and use it for free, though i suggest you donate something if you like it as it's actively being worked on and updated frequently. To make it work you (obviously) install it and set the game to "Automobilista 2" in the settings and press "start application". And don't forget to pick your name from the list in the top right, so the spotter will be able to call you by your real name. In the past you could even ask the creator to add yours if it wasn't already included, don't know if that is still a thing though. I suggest you read the manual a bit for more information about the voice recognition, it's available by pressing "help" in crew chief. Ingame you need to go to "Options" -> "System" -> switch "shared memory mode" to " Project Cars 2".
Thanks guys for this kind and fast response! It seems that I should / must give it a try next time I am in cockpit. I hoped that REIZA implement a spotter like in AMS1 but there is nothing to hear or read about at the moment. Reading these books of messages from the spotter is dangerous, I often left track because of this so another solution is needed. Just to be save, it is to download from here: CrewChief Forums ?
