    That's odd. You have both the Quest and PC update? The PC update brings the option to select frame rate and a slider for resolution.

    Hi mate, thanks for the reply.

    Are you messing around with this tool anymore? or just using it all via the actual Oculus PC software?

    I have both updates now live on my system, so PC and Headset updated.

    For the moment I'm not using the Oculus debug tool or the Tray tool while I tune my settings, don't want to many variables to muddy the water. Since I finally got the v23 for the PC I've currently landed on 80Hz and resolution slider at 4848 x 2448.
    My system is running pretty well flat out but the visuals are really nice in AMS 2
    I'm using the official Oculus cable plugged into a Startech PCie USB card with Sata power option.

    Hi guys,

    For anyone interested in understanding the resolution of the new Quest 2, check this video out...

    Appears it needs to be set at 1.7 in the PC software render resolution to achieve a 1:1 match for the Quest 2's screen.

    It seems despite my system is higher i can't get as much performance as yours. Maybe I can miss something. Did you make any fine tuning over GPU, AMS2 files etc. ?

    Here are my full settings at the moment:
    Quest graphics at 80Hz 4848x2448
    Only Nvidia setting is under power - Maximum Performance
    I'm running Oculus Tray Tool just to turn ASW off. Super Sampling at 0
    AMS 2 performance settings:
    Aniso 2x - MSAA Medium - Reflections High - Enviro Low - Car detail High - Track detail High - Pit Crew Player only - Shadows Low - Mirror No - Motion blur Off - Rendered frames 1
    Sharpening in the ini file at 1.8
    This is giving me great visuals with good frame rates. Just a barely perceptible stutter into the first corner if I'm at the back of a full field but once the race is under way it's nice and smooth.
    Hope this helps
    Dave

    That's not a setting for VR, just leave at your monitor resolution. You set the Quest resolution and refresh rate in the Oculus Desktop app.
    It's fully explained in the video above, a few posts back in this thread.

    Strength (0.0->3.0, default 0.0) - the strength of the sharpening, zero being off. I find a subtle amount like 0.6 to be a good starting point. Too high a value will cause shimmering effects and a generally unnatural look to the image. Note that having sharpening on at all will have a small performance cost, but the size of that hit doesn't vary with the amount of sharpening.
    Clamp (0.0->1.0, default 0.045) - limits the amount of sharpening at the local pixel level (if you have a large continuity difference between the original pixel and blurred pixel it limits the amount of offset applied).
    Offset (0.0->6.0, default 1.0) - the offset from the current pixel for the sampling pattern (so if it's 1 it will sample neighbouring pixels, any less and it will bias towards the central pixel, any more and it will start sampling pixels outside the normal kernel).

    Go here for the complete thread. Applies to AMS2 as well.

    Hello...

    Cant have the experience I can with PC2... Oculus Rift CV1 / 2080 super

    I have read about "sharpening tool" and stuff like that... still cant understand what it is...

    Should I find a txt file called graphicsconfigoculusdx11.xml??

    Inside it should I write:

    <prop name="SharpeningStrength" sharpeningstrength="1.000000" />
    <prop name="SharpeningClamp" sharpeningclamp="0.090000" />
    <prop name="OffsetBias" offsetbias="1.100000" />

    Or should I create that file?

    Really cant understand... can someone guide me a bit?

    Hey guys, I'm running the game with a Rift S and 3080Ti.
    What's the most effective way to get a better image?
    Supersampling or turning up the graphics settings like MSAA...?
    I didn't test the game enough, but I'm running modest settings like MSAA medium and ss 1.0...

    I will give a shot at sharpening the image, and make some more tests, before post more info here.
