Im talking about a version of Silverstone 2001 where Reiza allready have created 2 orig trackparts - but have locked them off so we cant use them.:(
The first is a more smooth entrance to Club corner - and the other is the orig highspeed Abbey Curve.
Both track parts is allready graphically included in Reizas Silverstone 2001 layout - but you are not allowed to use them.
The only other sim which officially include this track layout is iRacing - because they were so fortunate that they laserscanned this great historic track layout before the Silverstone consortium completely eradicated Abbey to create the modern RL Silverstone.

This plea is not so much because of the historical value but mainly because the Silverstone layout using these 2 parts has a much better highspeed flow than both Reizas 2001 version and the modern version.;)

So my plea is: Set the track free Reiza - please.:)

It will probably only cost Reiza 1-2 manhours work to free this lots of invested manpowers work.
Which is until now completely wasted.

ByTheWay: Eventhough Senna had to ask Mansell to taxi him home to pit after the 1991 Silverstone GP (iconic picture) then the brasilian Senna loved this Silverstone track layout.:p
    Hehe and Mansell did too.

Check the video out to see how great this layout is for MP races.

Reiza have already said they will be releasing more layouts of this and other circuits. Let them get on with the more important things first. There's more than enough content in the title to be getting on with.

2001 is the only layout of Silverstone that interests me.

Physics for most cars need a lot of work, but this little thing won't slow them down significantly.

You could be right - but actually they havent said that there wil be other versions of Silverstone.
They have vaguely said that there will be other historical versions of tracks - thats all.

1991 layout already exists. Automobilista 2 v1.0.2.0 Released - Now updated to v1.0.2.1

Why do you want a layout that has only ever been used for the Silverstone classic races?

You are wrong when you say Senna loved the version you want. Senna died in 1994. The track changed drastically from 1991 to the 1997 to 2002 configuration. Maybe do some homework before spouting rubbish.

The locked parts are part of the 2001 layout, without them it would be a fantasy layout.
1991 and 1975 layouts can be used if you want a more highspeed flow.

I allways welcome some nice polite and intelligent comments.
Also from rather new members in this forum - who really know how to adapt to the overall polite tone.

ByTheWay: I was actually watching this 1991 race from Club corner - so maybe I know what track layout was used at that time.

You are wrong. The 1991 track is not the same as the 2001 classic layout.

That's nice. But then, please tell me and others, why you think the iRacing layout shows the correct 1991 layout??
Please, compare it with this 1991 qualifying!!!! And please, give up! You can wish an alternative layout but not a 1991.

What you are showing is nothing else like the 1997-2009 track without Club- and Abbey-chicane. But it does not represent the 1991 layout which was different.
In 1994, after the sad 1st May weekend, the track was changed massively a second time, means Copse, Stowe, Club, Abbey, Priory, Brooklands, Luffield were changed. Later, in 1996, 1997 there were some more small changes till the next big change in 2010.

This was added in 2003! How could it be a part of 1991 layout??
Sorry, I was wrong. This was added in 1997.... but nevertheless it couldn't be a part of track in 1991.

Hehe I believe my own sightings from Club corner a lot better than some obscure website that dont even include the layout of Reizas "locked out" entrance to the Club. Also displayed in my video.:D
    1.jpg

ByTheWay: I probably still have some personal photographs taken from my camping chair in Club Corner 1991. And guess what layout they are showing.:p:p:p
