Without trying it, I would agree with you, 10% did sound a bit low to me, too. But as I told you, I tried it in my real car, which is way less powerful and has a much heavier flywheel than a race car, and I noticed the same thing, 10% throttle was enough to almost redline it in neutral. Try it in your own car as well and see how it works, maybe you will be surprised as well!

In neutral there is no rolling resistance, no air drag, no weight to lug around. Easily reaching the rev line with little input in neutral is absolutely normal. You are putting power out with only the mechanical parts providing any resistance. With more modern cars providing throttle curves as well, this might require more or less input as well.

Compare turning the pedals of your bicycle with this. Drop it in the 1st/biggest gear in the front and back plateau. With the back wheel in the air, you will see you can get the wheel spinning with 1 finger but if you have someone mounted on the bike the amount of force needed is much much higher.

I get all the facts and figures etc, and I agree with what's happening.
But in reality 10% is too low for the rpm to rise so fast to redline, its almost an on/off switch.
There's no gradual build/linear output, its just nothing then redline, wheres the ability to gradually raise the rpm/hold at a set rpm using throttle inputs.
Just seems a little bit extreme from my side.
But it might be my pedals although I've just downloaded the latest drivers, plus on ACC and Raceroom it seems normal.
I'll have to have another fiddle tomorrow.
    Thanks for testing above.

This is actually pretty normal behaviour and you are not redlining at 10%, these are about 20-25% The amount of green, you reach in pedaltravel there on the bar in the HUD is not fitting into the complete bar by 10 times.
The reaction to throttle changes might be a bit "direct", but you definetly see some changes in the last 80% of your pedals, when you watch the video and look at the shivering rpms in the limiter.

You are not holding torque/power steady by 50% throttle input in neutral, that's not how the dynamics with air and fluids into and out of the engine work, it's actually a pretty complex topic...
You can definetly expect having a lot more torque in the first 30% of your throttle pedal, than 30%, already. Even, when using a grocery getter.

Btw. R3E, they also introduced torque response curves in december, before that, it was linear.

I would like to take this thread a while to thank Reiza Studio for their great work and 1000 hours of fun in which I have been able to ride my hypnotic laps on fantastic circuits and experience many exciting moments in races in cars that I think are great simulated, which I can fully trust and, with a few changes to the settings, can adjust to suit my wishes.
I have every confidence in the development, that things are perfected and that the beauty flaws are ironed out.
Then there's a lot of things coming up.....
    It can only get better....

My humble thanks for developing Automobilista 2 and making it available so I can enjoy it.
    I love it ... :hurrayreiza:

How much in the beta? I have about double in the beta to the main release. But 1000 hours is impressive.

Congratulations, man! I've 400 + 260 in AMS 2 myself. 160 in AMS 1. 1200+ in Dirt Rally 1 and countless hours in RBR. And many other simulators, ofcourse. May you achieve 1500 and 2000+

I have friends with over 2K hour of PC2 and still counting. Just wondering why they hesitate to move on the AMS2.

So who's going to start the "AMS2 dedicated hrs " thread?:)

@ToMythTo I have friends with over 2K hour of PC2 and still counting. Just wondering why they hesitate to move on the AMS2.

I made the step quite recently. I think once they see the most recent improvements and the direction its heading in then its likely more will see the light. For me personally it was always a wait and see decision, but now Ive seen, and there is no more need to wait ;)
