Interesting news. rF2 certainly needs something like this. Depending on what they come up with might get me to reinstall it. Probably doesn't impact Reiza much though I would guess?

As far as i know Marcel has been the programming lead on Automobilista/SCE...
I doubt they'll be willing to discuss this in the public eye. But maybe they will, i don't know.. :)

I'm not sure Reiza will benefit from this or that it will affect them that much either, they already have the code fully licensed and their direction where they wish to take the Sim in future (Reiza17 for example). If anything the loss of collaborators (Marcel) could've already been dealt with behind the scenes as I've seen Renato mention elsewhere (on this forum) about losing members, whatever happens I'm sure Reiza will carry on regardless which is the main thing.

As for RF2 this is a good move, the future is very exciting :)

Luminis has been working with ISI for some time. Mostly small, special projects, like doing drivers for motion platforms. When we started our discussions with Reiza they were fully aware of that. Obviously AMS is based on rFactor 1 which they have licensed from ISI. That does not change. Renato and I are talking about the next steps for Reiza and obviously I informed him of this upcoming announcement.

I like rF2, but shelved it long ago for three reasons: lack of focus, clunky interface & lack of a proper manual for such a complex product. That made it into a sim engine rather than a proper sim. The way I see it, Reiza wisely detected and solved all three. It would be nice to see all these people working together.

    rF2 is a sim platform
Reiza made a sim game, based on a sim platform
Would be great if people put that in their minds....

It looks like with the recent announcement rF2 will also become a sim game.

Yeah I don't think this is going to affect Reiza given what I understand Luminis to be as a company, I do think though it's an excellent move for rFactor 2 if what they're saying they want to do actually ends up happening. I must say I trust Luminis and a Marcel-headed company in Studio 397 way more than I trust ISI to follow through on those promises though.

Interesting. Consistent with my personal goal of ignoring the dark side of sim racing, I will quote the great Empty Box and declare that "I'll believe it when I see it" ;)

Thank you for your clarification Marcel, I enjoy a lot what Automobilista have become in such short time, and this new project can be the reflection of the that accomplishment. And from your words, it means that Reiza and Luminus will continue to work together?

@DaVeX the engine will be new, but we will make it compatible with existing content. More details at this point I cannot give, but as you might have seen in one of the images we sent out, work is already underway.

@Paulo Gomes I had a chat with @Renato Simioni earlier this week. I don't rule out the option of collaboration. We are all on friendly terms and all of us come from a simracing background.

Thank for your reply and for your time Marcel. Waiting for development roadmap to see what you guys plan to do with the old rF2.

@Marcel Offermans May I know when we can expect exact details about this project?

Honestly, I'm surprised that I find more information on reiza website then elsewhere.

Is there any official forum or the isi rf2 forum will remain for the main news?

edit: Could you clear up some more question?

How big the developer team? So I already see elsewhere that luminis have 140-150 people. But actually how many people will work on rf2?

And now actually Studio 397 is a separate developer team like reiza or kunos?
And ISI Studio 397 Luminis will work together on rf2 or members from ISI and Luminis formed this new team and only this team will work on rf2?

can i ask - and something I've found that ISI should of completed years if not months ago.

Can we expect all the old cars to be updated to the new CPM/tyre standards.?
Because lets face its one of the older cars (F2 for ex. Feel like total poo thru the wheel)

    Regards
