Based on an earlier thread by @John Hargreaves :
Now that we also have a Custom Championship Tool, I think it would be great if we could share our own championships here, both ones that we've tested to work well, and ones that we're not entirely sure about and need feedback on.

I often struggle with finding good data on session lengths (Practice/Qualifying/Race length) and how points are awarded in various leagues, especially the esoteric and historical Brazilian ones. And unless we ever get some sort of championship sharing feature, the ability to share suggestions here is highly appreciated. :)

    1989 World Sportscar Championship

Based on the 1989 season (source), mixed with 1988/1990 events and other track replacements from the same period.

    Vehicle classes: Group C
Score type: Top 10 Standard (1)

    Round details:
    • Practice: 2 hours
    • Qualifying: 30 minutes
    • Race 1 length: ~480km in laps
    • Race 1 start time: 12:00
    • Rolling start

    Calendar:
    1. 1989-04-09: Kansai Classic - 82 laps
    2. 1989-05-21: Dijon-Prenois replaced with Watkins Glen GP - 89 laps
    3. 1989-06-25: Jarama replaced with Jerez Moto - 109 laps (2)
    4. 1989-07-23: Brands Hatch GP - 115 laps
    5. 1989-08-20: Nürburgring Nordschleife 2020 - 23 laps (3)
    6. 1989-09-03: Donington Park GP - 120 laps
    7. 1989-09-17: Spa-Francorchamps Historic 1993 - 70 laps
    8. 1989-10-29: Mexico City replaced with Brasília - 88 laps (4)
    9. 1990-04-29: Monza 1991 - 83 laps
    10. 1990-09-23: Montreal Historic 1988 - 110 laps
    11. Bonus round (no points): Bathurst 500 - 81 laps

    Notes:
    1. In reality, the first 10 places were awarded these points: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1
    2. Alternate date could be the 1988-03-06 Jerez race from the year before, for historic weather
    3. They raced on the Nürburgring GP circuit (most similar layout we have is Veedol - 94 laps), but I think most of us want to pretend we're Stefan Bellof in a 956 around the Nordschleife anyway
    4. Alternatives: Interlagos GP - 111 laps which is from 1990, or Interlagos 1976 - 60 laps, or Jacarepaguá 1988 - 95 laps

    1991 Touring Car Championship

Based on 1991 DTM (source), where the missing tracks are replaced with tracks from 1991 BTCC (source) and some other international tracks that have a similar feel.

    Vehicle classes: German Group A
Score type: Top 10 Standard (1)

    Round details:
    • Practice: 30 minutes
    • Qualifying: 30 minutes
    • Race 1 length: ~100km in laps
    • Race 2 length: ~100km in laps - consider disabling Race 2 for BTCC tracks
    • Rolling start

    Calendar:
    1. 1991-03-31: Zolder replaced with Spa-Francorchamps Historic 1993 - 15 laps
    2. 1991-04-14: Hockenheim Historic 1988 - 15 laps
    3. 1991-04-21: Nürburgring Veedol 2020 - 20 laps
    4. 1991-05-05: AVUS replaced with Velopark 2010 - 45 laps
    5. 1991-06-09: Wunstorf replaced with Snetterton 200 - 20 laps (2)
    6. 1991-06-30: Norisring replaced with Adelaide Historic 1988 - 25 laps
    7. 1991-07-14: Bonus round (1 race, no points) - Monza 1991 - 17 laps (3)
    8. 1991-08-04: Diepholz replaced with Silverstone Historic 1991 - 15 laps (4)
    9. 1991-09-08: Nürburgring 24-Hour 2020 - 4 laps
    10. 1991-09-15: Alemannenring replaced with Montreal Historic 1988 - 25 laps
    11. 1991-09-29: Hockenheim replaced with Oulton Park International - 20 laps (5)
    12. 1991-10-06: Brno replaced with Bathurst - 16 laps (6)
    13. 1991-10-20: Donington GP - 25 laps

    Notes:
    (1) In reality, the first 10 places were awarded these points: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1
    (2) Same length as 1991 BTCC Round 2
    (3) Fictional round. Adds a bit of the Zolder feel that was lost at Spa in Round 1
    (4) Same length as 1991 BTCC Round 7, but 20 laps can also work well.
    (5) Inspired by 1991 BTCC Round 9, as 4 races at Hockenheim in one season is maybe a bit too much, and the Hockenheim Short layout will become too repetitive IMO
    (6) While Curvelo Long (or Laguna Seca?) is a decent Brno replacement, Bathurst is much more relevant for Australian touring cars from this era, such as the BMW M3

    1967/1969 Formula Vintage Grand Prix

Vehicle classes: Formula Vintage G1 or G2 (not both)
    Score type: F3 Brazil 2017 (1)

    Round details:
    • Practice ("Friday qualifying session"): 1 hour
    • Qualifying ("Saturday qualifying session"): 1 hour
    • Race 1: Standing start

    Calendar:
    1. 1967-01-02 South African GP: Kyalami 1976 - 80 laps
    2. 1967-05-07 Monaco GP: Azure Circuit - 100 laps
    3. 1967-06-04 "Dutch" GP: Brands Hatch - 80 laps
    4. 1967-06-18 Belgian GP: Spa-Francorchamps 1993 – 57 laps (2)
    5. 1967-07-02 "French" GP: Spielberg 1974 – 60 laps
    6. 1967-07-15 British GP: Silverstone 1975 no chicane – 80 laps
    7. 1967-06-08 German GP: Nürburgring Nordschleife 24h – 15 laps (3)
    8. 1967-08-27 "Canadian" GP: Virginia Full - 68 laps
    9. 1967-09-10 Italian GP: Monza 1971 – 68 laps (4)
    10. 1967-10-01 United States GP: Watkins Glen Short (no chicane) – 72 laps
    11. 1967-10-22 "Mexican" GP: Interlagos 1976 – 41 laps

    Notes:
    (1) Originally, points were awarded on a 9–6–4–3–2–1 basis to the first six finishers in each round, and only count "best 5 + best 4" races from each half of the season.
    (2) If we get the 1970's Spa Historic: 28 laps
    (3) 24h layout for now… hoping for 1960's version!
    (4) Alternatively: Monza 10k (with chicanes) - 38 laps, or Imola 1972 - 78 laps

    2020 Formula Trainer Championship

Based on 2020 Avon Tyres Formula Ford Championship, where most of that year's races were cancelled due to COVID-19. Now we can imagine that those cancelled races instead were moved to other European circuits with great success!

Vehicle classes: Formula Trainer, Formula Trainer Advanced
Score type: Unknown, but maybe JCW UK 2020?

    Round Details:
    • Races last 15-25 minutes, I think?
    • Standing start.
    • Events last across two days, the calendar dates below are for Race 1, with Race 2 happening the next day.

    Calendar:
    1. 2020-05-02: Snetterton 200 (1)
    2. 2020-05-29: Nürburgring Sprint 2020
    3. 2020-06-27: Hockenheim National
    4. 2020-07-18: Oulton Park International
    5. 2020-08-01: Donington National
    6. 2020-08-22: Jerez Chicane
    7. 2020-09-26: Brands Hatch Indy - 20 laps
    8. 2020-10-10: Silverstone National

    Notes:

    (1) It was really Snetterton 300, but that infield is narrow and with substantial wheel interlock risk, and we don't want the first race to scare players away from trying to complete the championship

    2019 Formula Vee Brazil
It seems as if almost all rounds are held at Interlagos? (source) Let's create a more varied calendar that includes some Brazilian tracks that I think fit the Formula Vee driving style well. I've included Interlagos three times for more authenticity.

    Calendar:
    1. 2019-01-26: Interlagos
    2. 2019-02-23: Goiânia Short
    3. 2019-03-23: Interlagos (1)
    4. 2019-04-20: Velo Cittá Club Day
    5. 2019-05-18: Jacarepaguá 2005 Short
    6. 2019-06-08: Londrina Long
    7. 2019-08-03: Cascavel
    8. 2019-09-07: Santa Cruz do Sul
    9. 2019-10-19: Interlagos (2)
    10. 2019-12-21: Curvelo Short
    Notes:
    (1) Fictional event date. Move to #5 if Jacarepaguá is too anachronistic
    (2) Fictional event date.

    2019 Copa Truck

    source: 2019 Copa Truck | RacingCalendar.net

    Round details:
    • 25 minute race
    • Rolling start

    Calendar:
    1. 2019-03-24: Goiânia External (1)
    2. 2019-04-14: Campo Grande
    3. 2019-06-02: Londrina Short (2)
    4. 2019-06-14: Curvelo Short
    5. 2019-08-18: Santa Cruz do Sul
    6. 2019-09-01: Brasilia Outer (3)
    7. 2019-10-06: Cascavel
    8. 2019-10-27: Velopark 2017
    9. (fictional bonus round: Tarumã Internacional)
    10. 2019-12-08: Interlagos
Other fun Truck tracks that were not on the calendar:
Spa, Spielberg Short, Silverstone International, various Monza layouts

    Notes:
    (1) They actually raced the full layout in 2019 (source), but I think the external layout is more approachable and less intimidating as a first race
    (2) They raced the long layout, but the short layout is more fun to drive with the trucks, IMO
    (3) Was really held at Autódromo Eduardo P. Cabrera, Uruguay

Copa Truck has also raced at Guaporé before, so it's possible to add this track to the calendar.

    2019 Copa Fusca RS
Hopefully this is the right class? This was just a quick Google search: 2019 Copa Fusca RS | RacingCalendar.net
(I've done some decent Brazilian track replacements to avoid too much repetition)

    Calendar:
    1. 2019-02-23: Velopark 2017
    2. 2019-03-17: Santa Cruz do Sul
    3. 2019-04-28: Tarumã Internacional
    4. 2019-05-26: Guaporé
    5. 2019-06-23: Tarumã replaced with Curvelo Short
    6. 2019-08-04: Tarumã Chicane
    7. 2019-09-14: Guaporé replaced with Londrina Long
    8. 2019-10-12: Velopark 2017 replaced with Brasília Full
    9. 2019-11-16: Tarumã Internacional

    British Superkart Division 1

This is inspired by the aborted 2020 season, but the tracks that aren't in AMS2 have been replaced with other tracks where the championship has been held before.

    Round details:
    • Qualifying: 15 minutes
    • Race 1: 15 minutes
    • Race 2 (day 2): 15 minutes
    • Rolling start
    Calendar:
    1. Cadwell Park
    2. Silverstone National
    3. Brands Hatch Indy
    4. Donington National
    5. Oulton Park Island
    6. Snetterton 300
    7. Bonus round (no points) Silverstone International Historic 2001

    International Superkarts
This is not a real series, but these tracks have either been chosen because they have had superkarts racing there, or because they have a particularly good feeling of flow in the superkart.
    1. Adelaide
    2. Londrina Short
    3. Kansai West
    4. Velopark 2017
    5. VIR North
    6. Santa Cruz do Sul
    7. Hockenheim National
    8. Interlagos
    9. Cadwell Park
    10. Spa
    11. Azure Circuit

    1980 BMW M1 Procar

Based on the season that Nelson Piquet won (source). Originally it was only held in Europe, but with some creative licensing this championship has been extended with a few races outside of Europe, at popular locations.

    Vehicle classes: Procar
Score type: Top 10 Standard (1)

    Round details:
    • Practice: 30 minutes
    • Qualifying: 15 minutes
    • Standing start

    Optional pre-season races: (2)
    1. 1980-02-29: Kyalami Historic 1976 - 20 laps
    2. 1980-03-29: Long Beach - 20 laps

    Calendar:
    1. 1980-04-26: Donington National - 40 laps
    2. 1980-05-11: AVUS replaced with Oulton Park Classic - 20 laps (3)
    3. 1980-05-17: Azure Circuit - 15 laps
    4. 1980-06-22: Norisring replaced with Nürburgring Nordschleife 2020 - 5 laps
    5. 1980-07-12: Brands Hatch - 20 laps
    6. 1980-08-09: Hockenheimring Historic 1977 - 14 laps
    7. 1980-08-16: Spielberg Historic 1977 - 17 laps
    8. 1980-08-31: Zandvoort replaced with Spa-Francorchamps Historic 1993 - 14 laps
    9. 1980-09-13: Imola Historic 1972 - 20 laps (4)
    10. Bonus round (no points): Kansai Classic - 20 laps

    Notes:
    (1) Should really be 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1
    (2) The championship was run on European F1 tracks on the day before the F1 race, so if we expand this calendar outside of Europe, these dates are from the day before the corresponding F1 race.
    (3) Since round 8 at Zandvoort has been replaced, Oulton Park Classic provides a somewhat similar feel.
    (4) Imola Historic 1972 and 1988 are equally far away from 1980. While I think 1988 is more accurate in terms of driving feel, 1972 is used here in order to avoid the unpopular chicane at Acque Minerali.

Any more of these ideas? I think this is a great thread as I'm not that good with picking things like this.

    1979 Brazilian Stock Car Championship:

There is very little information on early Brazilian Stock Car championships, in 1979 there were 14 races but I can only find information on the first and last race of the season. Therefore, the rest of the schedule is just using Brazilian tracks that existed during that time. Then I put them in order using a logistically feasible travel schedule.

    1. Taruma
    2. Guapora
    3. Interlagos Historic
    4. Goinia External
    5. Brasilia
    6. Jacarepaguá Historic 1988
    7. Interlagos Historic Outer
    8. Guapora
    9. Cascavel
    10. Goinia Short
    11. Brasilia External
    12. Goinia
    13. Jacarepaguá Historic 1988
    14. Interlagos Historic

    1986 Brazilian Stock Car Championship:
I cannot find anything about the 1986 championship at all. This is just a logistically practical schedule utilizing tracks that existed in 1986. The season puts a bit of emphasis on Brazil's premier racetrack during the 80s, Jacarepaguá, with two races including the season finale. I think it makes for a good season of racing.

    1. Brasilia External
    2. Goinia Short
    3. Jacarepagua 1988
    4. Interlagos Historic Outer
    5. Taruma
    6. Guapora
    7. Cascavel
    8. Goinia
    9. Brasilia
    10. Goinia Outer
    11. Interlagos Historic
    12. Jacarepaguá 1988

    1999 Brazilian Stock Car Championship:
The 2003 championship is the closest I can find to the 1999 season regarding the entire schedule, so I chose to model the 12 race season after that. However, I replaced Campo Grande's two slots with another race at Londrini utilizing the Short layout and added a race at Goinia as Campo Grande had not yet been constructed.

    1. Curitiba
    2. Londrina Short
    3. Interlagos
    4. Jacarepaguá 2005 SCB
    5. Londrina Long
    6. Interlagos
    7. Curitiba
    8. Goinia
    9. Jacarepaguá 2005 SCB
    10. Brasilia
    11. Curitiba
    12. Interlagos

    1993 American Endurance Championship
This is definitely not 100% accurate as GT1 cars didn't race next to Group C cars, but since they are from the same era (1990s) it actually works really well.

These are the settings I used to run the championship this last weekend. I had a blast driving the Mercedes GT1 car:
    • 100% AI difficulty with 25% aggression.
    • 30x time acceleration
    • Points system: Stock Car 2020 Race 1
    Car Classes:
    • Group C
    • GT1

1993 DTM Championship (German Group A):
I substituted a Belgium track for a Belgium track. Then I inserted Donington Park twice, as it was actually raced during the season as a Non-championship race. Alemannenring was a tight road course, which I thought Adelaide could make a nice substitute for. The one I am not entirely settled upon is the Norisring replacement, for now I am using the 2001 Silverstone National Historic layout, but I have also considered Monaco and am open to suggestions.

Points System: Stock Car 2017 Sprint Race

    Schedule:
    1. 1993 Spa Francorchamps (Substitute for Zolder)
    2. 1988 Short Historic Hockenheimring
    3. Nurburgring GP
    4. Donington Park National (Substitute for Wunstorf)
    5. Nurburgring Nordschliefe
    6. 2001 Silverstone National Historic (Substitute for Norisring)
    7. Donington Park GP (Substitute for Diepholz Airfield)
    8. 1985 Adelaide Historic (Substitute for Alemannenring)
    9. Nurburgring Sprint Short (Substitute for AVUS)
    10. 2001 Hockenheimring Historic

    Championships for beginners
EDIT: My apologies to the people who liked this post before, when it was using the Copa Uno, since I've now changed the vehicle class. For those who still want to race the Uno, I've added a post with Copa Onix Jeans de Fórmula Uno to this thread :)

The point of this championship is to have something similar to the early races in Gran Turismo games, where slow road cars raced short races, often on shorter "club" layouts.

Vehicle classes: TSI Cup, or Copa Uno if you're feeling nostalgic
