Logitech G27 causing game to crash since latest update.

As in the title, if my wheel is plugged in the game will crash at load screen. Unplugged the game will progress fine, however, plugging the wheel in at this point causes the same crash (instant close to desktop and bug report interface appears.

I'll keep trying but at the moment I can't play the game. I've verified the files and tried the usual wheel bug fixes.

 

Hey Crimson, thanks for the quick reply, I'm not on G-HUB, I'm on the old logitech profiler. I read the update log and was surprised mine was affected. Just tried PC2 and no issues with the wheel.

 

The files in the bugsplat report are:

Edit: I've sent another now.

 

Sadly I still can't get it to work and the drivers for the g27 don't go any further than the one I have I don't think, the later wheels use G-Hub but the G27 still has to use the old profiler. No other devices used in combination.

I'm lost too, it was fine before the update today, never happened before. Tomorrow I'll try a fresh install of AMS2 and the Logitech drivers, see if that does any good.

I suppose there is an issue with new rpm led logic on the API.
Trying to fix the code for G29 ended ruining the support for the legacy code (G25/27).

 

I had CTD on game start after the recent update even though I don't even own a Logitech wheel. What helped in my case was deleting the AMS2 folder in the Documents directory.

 

Thanks for the suggestion gvse, I deleted those files when the big update dropped and have only had the problem since the last update, but to be sure I deleted them again.

I have also now done a full reinstall of the game and drivers. Still not working.

At this point, I get the feeling that Davex is right, the last update must have caused this, I tested every other wheel game I own with no issues (including farm simulator =P).

I'm all out of things to try now.

 

i modified the bugsplat64.dll as a ghetto fix for this issue till the devs fix the problem
this should fix the crashing

simply drop the dll in the game folder (make sure to keep a backup of the original bugsplat64.dll for the future)

incase anyone is worried for viruses, this dll is identical to the original dll except for 2 bytes being different.

Hi Toniware, thanks so much for the fix. I have just bought a laptop with a 3070 in it and ran into this bug. It was fine on my big amd580 rig but have not driven in a while knowing an upgrade was on its way.

Now i can test and see if the sim looks any better. Thanks again.

 

Thanks for the work around Toni, I just tested it and it works, really appreciate you doing that. Can you shed any light on what the problem was please? Should I avoid playing online with the altered file or is it no problem?

glad it worked, u can play online.
didnt look into what the actual problem is, the fix just prevents bugsplat to create a report and forceclose the game. so it basically ignores the exception. ill leave the fixing part to the devs.

 

Just an update, my brother has a G29 and had the same crash, he is using G-HUB, using Toni's file worked for him too.

Very strange.

Just to confirm, the latest update has fixed the issue for me, I deleted the modded bugsplat file Toni provided after updating and then verified the files to re-obtain it.
