The track could easily handle standing starts. It may not use it IRL, but it has the space. The problem is AMS2 bugs out on AI controlled rolling starts. I wish more people were competent enough to just do manual formation lap/rolling starts.

Maybe you are thinking of another track or misremembering things because standing start is disabled/ignored for Daytona and if it works in any way, then it needs to be addressed cause it is a bug :)

I think reiza disabled standing starts due to AI sliding down track waiting for green

I haven't tried it since the last update, is that when it was disabled?

IIRC, that issue existed in PC2 as well.

I didn't know this was the reason. I thought it was, because everyone launching, spinning their wheels on a banked surface would be a bad idea.

The solution for both (if possible technically) would be to move the starting grid back a couple hundred meters like they do in Raceroom from what I heard. If we really want standing starts at Daytona that is. I know there are some good reasons for that for now...

Well I tried Daytona tonight first round of a custom championship. I could choose between rolling and standing start. I chose standing and that is the way the race started. The AI still slid down to the inside of the track too but then started from that position.

Really strange as it is not intended to be an option. Could be because it is the CC option and not the track option

Yes, that could be it. If there was a fix for the cars sliding down the embankment then that would be problem solved for that track.
