    Goodday fellow racers,

I wanted some more chit-chat between users, so here's a tiny start. Show me your simrig. Perhaps even the first starting rig to what you're running today.

I will be showing my second simrig. Short story: I began simming in 2015 playing Dirt Rally 1, RBR, AMS 1, Raceroom, etc. Then sold everything end of 2017 due quarter-life crisis. 1.5 year later I began buying parts again and racesimming. Probably due the dead of my two cats.

Anyway look at the pictures below. I took the first picture around June 2019 or so and the last one is from August 2021. Can you spot the differences in each picture?

    I am not done...

Show me your simrigs! I am curious what my AMS2-mates are seated in.

    Yours,

    Marius

My solution for aggavating strong FFB and super fast steering input woes over long MP races (15min training, 15 min qualy, 10 laps) Works best with all aids on and automatic clutch and shift. DSCF0007.JPG

I've had my DOF Reality H6 rig for around 18 months now, and it has served me well, but it doesn't easily adjust to a seating position that feels comfortable for me during long sessions. In order for me to reach my inverted pedals, I have to sit with the steering wheel close to my chest. Fixing it requires me to cut into the metal base of the pedals, and I don't want to do that. Therefore, last week I switched to Sim-Lab GT1 EVO and SimRig SR1 which is much more adaptable, but first impressions reveal that the actuators don't quite have the fine precision that I want… we'll see what I end up with.

My current rig, complete with 4 shakers hidden, and two amps hidden behind the seat.

    @McClutch That's surely an interesting rig. :D
@Roar McRipHelmet I hope everything will work flawlessy. I am not a big fan of moving-rigs because I've the feeling the devices are not made for shaking, etc. Whenever I see people in motion rigs with triple and all that. I cringe a bit, cause I feel so sorry for the inner-parts of the devices, haha
@Pieter Nienhuis It's a Samsung C49RG. I bought it used for 720 Euro. Collected it myself at his home. A real steal, because new they go for 1000+ euro. However, on Marktplaats you can find some between 800 and 950, tho. Fun story. The guy eventually tried to sell me a 3090 for 700, but he only wanted to send it, so yeah. Didn't do that, haha.
@F1Aussie Reminds me of my GT Omega Supreme rig. Flexed a lot. Still good memories tho. And your new one looks so sturdy and clean. Love to see it! How are the arms holding up?

I can confirm that my Fanatec 1.5 shifter did not like shaking - the hall effect magnet gets misaligned and needs recalibration and some times dis-/reassembly. So now I'm using the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter instead - much more durable.

Yeah my first one wasa gt art. I actually got my dd1 whilst had it and had to clamp some aluminium uprights to it to make it more rigid, LOL.
The P1-X is rock solid, absolutely love it. I actually ordered some longer profile lengths from sim lab for the uprights as I found the standard ones not to be high enough for my liking.
The dd certainly are a workout and when I did first get it I certainly noticed it in the shoulders

@Roar McRipHelmet Perhaps the Pro Sim or VMN or BDH will suit your needs as well. TH8A is an ok shifter, tho. I hate it due it's long throws.
@Tiago Ribeiro Nice rig! The red light makes it a bit difficult to see, but I do see you're streamer, I suppose. Should check out some of your streams soon
@F1Aussie Wish i went PX1 immediately, but went for GT1-evo. modded it a bit. Caster, etc. Maybe someday I will buy better uprights and a better 'wheeldeck', tho. Btw maybe up the monitor a bit and use the last space of your uprights. See if that solves the problem. Or you must be like 2.10 meter orso, hjehe.

By the way I am in the run for a DD1 or a CSW DD, but I love my CSW 2.5 a lot. It still does it job right. Maybe I will upgrade my Fanatec V1.5 into better. Currently I can't think of any upgrades. It's kinda all 'high end'. Only small upgrades for lots of money, tho. Except the DD.

For motion rigs, especially those with heave, mass is an important factor to consider. Most of the high-quality shifters are heavy, while the TH8A is light and ok quality. I'm looking at the Frex shifter, although that one also weighs quite a bit.

Those photos are the new uprights, they are 15cm higher than the original ones, really lifted the wheel and gave me more leg room underneath. The track racer monitor uprights allow for a lot more height adjustment in the monitor and back and forth adjustment than just the standard simlab integrated monitor mount.

Just bought myself some HRS pedal pads for my sprint pedals, been looking for a wider brake pedal pad for my sprint pedals for a while now. They look stunning too. The neat thing with the accelerator is that it has an optional braket that allows to to get your foot placed consistently on it, great idea. Would be neat if they did the same for the brake but it only comes in a three pedal set so would get in the way of the foot clutch, if you used one.
Funky packaging too, came with a mouse pad, stickers and some mentos, lol.

Looks good! Hope the pedals are the same or around the same weight, tho. Can do weird stuff with the settings, etc. But HE indeed needs a little wider plates.

I didn't weigh them but they are very light and rigid, come in different colours too. Tested them out last night and no issues but I might do a calibration check anyway. Below is the link if you want to read more about them.

They look stunning! And yeah I agree, wider brake pads are probably going to be a massive improvement over the standard set. I’ll look into getting those. Thanks for the link!

No worries, very well built, very solid. They only just restocked a few days ago, I think they sell reasonably quickly. Great service they offer too, reply to emails late at night on the weekends and ship very quickly, got shipping notification within an hour of placing order and got them within 2 days even though the sender and I are both regional.
