Is there a way to view the ideal tire pressures for the different vehicles/compounds? AC has an Addon for this, and I find it quite handy. If there isn't, how do you guys know where to dial in tire pressures? I guess you try to balance all four tires to the same, but do you go up, down, or try to get to the middle?
The Old trick from GTR2 manual is, if the temperature of middle part tire right in the middle of otter and inner part of tire after some laps, it's in the right pressure.
Yes, of course. And depending on the tyre, the warmest side can spread the temp for other sides, so it is not so straightforward.
Increasing your tyre pressures will cause your tread temperature to increase; more pressure stiffens the tyre’s casing which results in the tread having to do more work resulting in the tread getting hotter. Lowering your pressures will cause them to decrease. Your tyre temp should go from high to low or evenly distributed when the center of your tyre is the hottest your pressure is to high, when the centre temp is the lowest your pressure is to low Since the temperature of the tyres is changing a lot, the pressure is changing a lot too. it is hard to say when the pressure is o.k. To reduce oversteer – Reduce rear pressures or increase front pressures To reduce understeer – Reduce front pressures or increase rear pressures So you can choose to run hot tyres to have a better car stability (in Time Trial because your tyres wont wear or in short races)
