As an experiment I tried running AMS 2 though Steam VR with my RiftS. Was ok but I want to run AMS2 though Oculus again but no matter what I do it always tries to start in SteamVR Even Oculus Home library has forgotten AMS2. I've tried the -oculus but it still launches SteamVR and fails (Well steamVR window comes up on the desktop but no AMS 2 shown in the SteamVR window on desktop or the headset) shows on normal desktop mode
Tried -oculus in steam right click menu of the game? Pop it in launch options. Did that to me after trying steam vr but restarting steam and Oculus sorted it.
Done that but still tries to start SteamVR and fails and goes flat screen. Verified SteamVR and Automobilista 2 game files but for some reason SteamVR always kicks in when launching AMS2 (ticked oculus)
Idle curiosity. Is there any pop ups on the Oculus app? I had issues last week thanks to a third party app. Kept getting warnings that my GPU drivers had an error and wouldn't load into vr. Took me hours to work it out. Overwolf (kids use it for Minecraft mods) was messing with Vulcan.
Hi BumbleB, maybe you can try launching ams2 using this: steam://run/1066890//-othervr -forcevr you can use windowskey + R and then copy paste that and hit enter
No joy still tryes to load in SteamVR and fails. Seems theonly way for me to play this is though SteamVR on my RiftS which isnt to bad from what i can tell but would still like the option to use Native Oculus
Hey Bumble! Maybe give this a try: I was running through the Crew Chief app to fine-tune some settings, when I came across this check box: 'Start SteamVR if detected (boolean)'. It was unchecked for me by default, check to see if this is checked - it could be the solution to your problem.
