Interesting. I've had some experience of Watkins Glen in the past, but never really fully engaged with it until now. It's like the bleedin' Nordschleife's greatest hits, isn't it? Or is it just me?

    Anyway, it's stupendous!

These cars drive exactly as I would expect considering these things have tires as wide as a small hatchback. They are incredibly fun and make you feel like God until they don't, and then you go to meet God.

Just to break away from the awesomeness of the carts for a bit.

the V8 Supercar is way to soft in suspension, and the balance between bump and rebound are like driving an off-road car in default setup, but it’s otherwise showing more improvements.

Just FYI - default setups are max boost

Actual peak power according to ingame telemetry-
    Honda - 900 HP
    Ford / Mercedes - 885 HP
    Toyota - ~860 HP

IMO the Mercedes is definitely the easiest to drive, the Ford felt a little chunkier despite the same peak HP, and the torque numbers move so fast on a track you'd need proper telemetry to figure it out.

So at Reiza, I do have a question regarding Racing USA part 2 and 3 working together. Will we have some sort of method of combining the road and oval cars so that we could use them over a single championship? Or are we going to have to 2 separate championships, one for road and one for Ovals?

I wondered, why i hit the wall so often with the Honda at Cleveland, when flooring the apex...well i saw the HP output and yeah...we need that UI update... :D

I think the peak HP figure is really only the tip on these things, just easiest to see from here.

15 HP peak (or even 40) isn't that much but the Honda definitely has a bit of extra warp factor built in throughout the rev range. Really would like to see proper HP/Torque curves for the 4 engines though to see how they stack.

Still gummy and the LSD is odd.

    Cheers!

Feel free to set it, like you want to, i personally prefer less preload and less power ramp angle. But the LSD isn't "odd". It's working like it should, it might be just not set to your desired way.

Glen is just pure perfection. What a track, what a track. It was already my favorite on RaceRoom, and now I can race it at night. With rain. Under fog :D

And it could just be me, but the update to the tire tread on the Porsche RSR GTE brought the car to life for me. What an update!

It was to fix stutters and screen tearing on certain cards and set ups. You will not receive a magical 2070 performance boost, only a fix to stutters and screen tearing etc, if of course you were previously suffering from them.
Reiza “found a lead on the source of stuttering and similar issues” and that’s why they pushed this release back. Along with giving them time “to ensure some extra polish”.
I wasn’t suffering from stutters and I can confirm the performance this morning, is the exact same as it was when I last played it on Wednesday night, which is amazing and I love it!

Great update. I agree with all the observations that Cleveland is gorgeous, bumpy and easy to get lost at! I'll be spending a few more hours getting familiar with the great track for sure.

Watkins in AMS2 is a thing of beauty, a magnificent looking and fast flowing track. Just don't bother driving chronically understeering cars like the M1 or the Sprint Racer, the AI will leave you for dead. Also, the forced rolling starts get very old very quickly, especially as you and the AI are guided straight into the wall.

I'm not much of an open wheeler aficionado but I have to say the F-USA cars I've tried are very well done, absolute beasts too.

I'll absolutely be shelling out the $ after the free weekend.

Two flies in the ointment for me after a few hours:
1 - The various tyre revisions have left the Ginetta GT5, once my favourite car in the game, with bugger all mechanical grip. It just skitters through every turn, much much less fun to drive.
2 - The dodgy scaling of a lot of UI graphics and icons is still present. They look like they were scaled down to 32x32 pixels then upscaled to give the dodgy blurry look we now enjoy.
