    I hope they fix the custom championship soon, because this will be the very first one that I do!

    This looks really fun to me! I only recently read about these cars and this short lived series. Funny how that car looks suspiciously like the Delorean of the 80s lol..
    Anyway, I saw some Youtube videos of these guys driving in the rain, and it looked fun.

    International GT Open
    The Ultima GTR in AMS2 has the class "GT Open", but I can't find any evidence that this car ever raced in that championship? It mostly raced in British GT from ~2000-2005 and in Belcar around the same time, and also in some endurance races and some FIA GT races around the turn of the millennium, although the latter was an older chassis/engine than the Ultima GTR 540 that we have in AMS2.

    Therefore, I made a championship where we can imagine that the Ultima GTR continued to race in some rounds in both the British GT 2006 season as well as later seasons in International GT Open. I couldn't find a year where the calendar contained more than 3 tracks that are featured in AMS2, so I spread them all out across a decade to cover all possible tracks without any fictional replacements.

    (4) In 2006 the layout was basically Snetterton 200 with a slightly different chicane, but for 50-70-minute races the 300 layout fits better.

    Notes:
    (1) Speedland Kart 3 is limited to 14 karts on track. Also, too many karts on track increases risk of AI doing weird stuff.
    (2) Wet / Random / Real weather makes the AI really unbalanced compared to the player
    (3) Although rental kart events often use standing start, rolling starts work better with the kart AI. Be prepared for an immediate start after clicking the Race button on some tracks.
    (4) EDIT: Irrelevant since v1.2.3.x and later, now that rubber amount no longer has any effect.

    Lancer Cup 2015
    It seems like 2015 was the first year that they raced the Lancer RS instead of the Lancer R (source), and also the first year they raced somewhere else than just at Velo Città (source).

    • Unknown practice/qualifying lengths, I suggest copying from Stock Car championship
    • Races were approximately 25 minutes long, maybe Race 2 was shorter, or reverse grid?

Maybe it was two different events held on the same day? Also, it seems to be the only date on the calendar when Velo Città had a wet track, which makes it even more of a bummer to miss this round at Velo Città.

    Add 15-20 minute practice sessions if you need it.

    International Race of Champions (IROC I)
    We now have the Daytona track and the 1974 Porsche 911 RSR 3.0 - both were featured in IROC I (source) where Emerson Fittipaldi competed. Most of the championship races took place at Riverside which isn't in AMS2, but I've replaced Riverside with Virginia, Laguna Seca, and Watkins Glen. I've also added 4 extra rounds outside of USA so that IROC indeed becomes a true international race not just in name. Races were roughly 45 minutes in length (source), so I've converted that to number of laps based on lap times in the Porsche.

    Vehicle classes: GT Classics
    Score type: Top 10 Standard (1)

    Round details:
    • Practice: 30 minutes
    • Qualifying: 15 minutes
    • Rolling start

    Calendar:

    1. The Wikipedia page for IROC I claims that the championship used prize money instead of points, but TV broadcasts from Race #3 (source) still listed points.
    2. Trivia: The last race on this circuit for 25 years was to be held exactly one year later, which is why I chose this date which originally was 1973-10-27
    3. The 1974 layout didn't have the bus stop chicane, and the infield was both simpler and longer. For fixed setup races where gearing can't be made taller, Daytona Nascar Road Course can be used instead. Also, this race is slightly longer because it lasted for 51 minutes in real life.
    4. Same location and date as Fittipaldi drove Race of Champions in F1 (source) - let's imagine that this race was held on the same day before the main F1 event.

    As there is a bit of a shortage of street/oval tracks in AMS2, I've allowed some creative replacements. Consider this a first draft, with changes to come as more of Racin' USA pt. 2 and pt. 3 is released.

    Score type: Stock Car 2017 Sprint Race (1)

    (2) Was 105 laps with the shorter layout
    (3) Could be 110 laps if the weather allows for it
    (4) Alternative date 1998-06-07 (Detroit), as it's geographically closer to Toronto than Montréal
    (5) If we get Daytona Oval in Racin' USA pt. 3, then 200 laps there to represent the U.S. 500.
    (6) Meant as a fun final round. If you don't mind scraping the underbody, you can even try the no-chicane layout.

    Alternatives that were considered in the calendar but didn't quite fit in: Salvador, Guaporé, Ibarra, Velopark 2017. However, there were two races held in March as well as a few others, so you could slot any of them in there if you want.

    1996 Indycar Championship that I'm running currently.

    Inspired by the 1996 Indycar World Championship. Obviously missing most ovals until Racing USA pt3 releases. Most replaced races will be around 100 miles in length and will have funny names.

    3 No idea if there is enough light at Daytona to race the Cart cars at night, but if possible I bet it would look very cool.

    Nice and detailed info, inthebagbud!

    In your chart I see the numbering "20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1". Is that the points scheme? Of the options that we currently have in AMS2, it seems closest to the one called "Stock Car 2017 Sprint Race".

    Since we don't have Croft, Knockhill, or Thruxton... Below are my own suggestions for replacements, if anyone is open to the idea:
    • Croft: - Santa Cruz do Sul -- or Velopark 2017 if replacing one of the Croft Club layouts (not driven in BTCC, as far as I know). Santa Cruz has two corners with the same "Scandinavian flick" corner entry design that is also used to some degree at Croft. Your suggestion of Cascavel is an alright track, but I don't see that much resemblance to Croft in driving feel?
    • Thruxton: - Silverstone International or Tarumã Chicane. I prefer the latter, especially due to T2 being similar to Church (a long sweeper that's not entirely flat out) and that the corner is leading into a chicane on both the original and the replacement.
    • Knockhill: - Virginia International Raceway South. It feels quite similar to Knockhill in the way that the corner exits always seem a bit too narrow. Also, the infield esses (The Spiral) feels similar to the chicane at Knockhill reverse layout. Your suggestion of using Velo Cittá Club Day isn't too bad, but I miss the feeling of being thrown about like at Knockhill - the slow corners at Velo Cittá are a bit too slow to achieve the same feel.
