Why is there a drying line already on a wet track with light rain if I'm the first car on track and not even done half a lap yet? Weather and time is on real time.
i have also noticed this in the past, where it would start raining and the track forming a dry line when noone could have even driven over that section of the track.. was thinking about investigating whats happening code-wise, but lost interest before even attempting to look for it.
Wow, it looks like it simulates support series and track experience drives mid sessions Total immersion!
I tried to repro it on the same track with light rain but it works fine to me, and codewise nothing suspect. Are you able to share the Race, practice and quali settings screens for us to try to repro it.
Here are my settings i pretty much always run. I also wonder about puddles, why are many cut off in straight lines?
Thanks but I still cant repro it Tested exact same settings in guapore, 0 AI, let the session run 20 mins, and the track was drying evenly on light rain from the initial wet, no drying lines were formed. You tested it in Single player or multiplayer? 0 AI opponents or more than 0? The drying line in your screenshot is in a place where you hadn't driven any single lap in that session? You took the screenshot after how many minutes from session start? Any other details that you may think that caused it?
Have you tried driving a single lap and checking the track afterwards? (Deliberately only 1 lap, not more) Maybe not even a full lap. But being with at least 1 car on track for a short time.
Not a full lap but i drove up to the point of his screenshot. No drying line formed in any parts of the track as expected.
My tests were in SP with a full grid, the screenshot I took and when I noticed it was when no cars had driven on the track and certainly no car had completed a lap, I was the first car out of the pits and there was already a dry line formed infront of me. The session had only just started, the practice session with settings I showed on my earlier post.
Yeah I think it needs other cars to start to drive because i got it again last night, I've not tried it with no Ai.
u can also, and alot easier, spot this, if u increase the weather speed, i am not sure if thats the purpose of it, but i assume even with faster drying, u shouldnt see a dryline forming when noone was there?
thanks. I tested again with a full grid, and I only see a drying line starting to being formed after about half the grid passed through that point. Also checked in debug with livetrack layer enabled and I see the drying line was being formed at that moment in my test only due to wheels removing water from it (no evidence of bugs).
