I don't know how many of you have PS5's, however if you get a chance, download the matrix Unreal tech demo and have a gander at the future. What interests me most apart from the graphical fidelity, is the fact this enormous simulated city is only 25gb, and has AI in both vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic that seamlessly interact with each other. Honesty, its pretty incredible how well it all works. In regards to racing games, it also gives me some appreciation for how far ahead of its time Grid 2008 was. Seeing this Demo bring back car damage like we had in that game and never again since is really impressive given this Demo's open world nature. I could only imagine what a racing game with that level of quality put into it would look like on this engine. The thing is, I get this sinking feeling that the actual products derived from Unreal 5 will never top this tech demo in quality, simply because of how the gaming industry has prioritized profits over quality. (Or in the case of Motorsports Games, Overkill Studios, and EA, profits over simply making a functional game.)
It looks amazing. I do have a massive issue with it though....Its not available on PC Why though? The city and driving could be used with a city driving sim or something. So many possibilities.
These guys are developing a WW2 Uboat simulation using UE5. I quote- "we would like to introduce Code Orchestra, a brand new framework for combining C#, Rust, Python, and UE5." It aims to be a highly realistic systems representation and not for the casual simmer, but that being said it looks amazing. Crush Depth: U-Boat Simulator
But the Series S doesn't have such a trick system. It looks smooth on YT, have you played it yourself? I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has used it.
Well I rolled a car, with parts flying everywhere and it didn't drop a single frame. Also the underside of the car is completely modeled.
It will drop frames when flying around at high speed on max ai, but honestly plays smoother than new COD war zone map
