We need to talk about the braking feel

I agree with this, using Fanatec V3’s. The braking just feels off and not right to me especially when compared to other Sim’s.

 

You dont have to compare it to any sim- Every car driver knows that cars tend to stop quite abruptly when you stomp the brake at full force... even without ABS. Currently is is very hard to get to an abrupt hold in AMS2 even from moderate speeds.

 

So, I gave another try on the Super V8/Nurburgring GP combo, this time instead of fully releasing the throttle while braking I kept a little bit of throttle (around 20% or so) during the entire braking phase. That resulted and no more spinouts while braking. I can still lockup the tyres if I brake too hard but the spinout under braking was gone.

 

That implies the issue might be with excessive engine braking. The same problem existed in RaceRoom (the infamous autobin.exe) until they added the option to adjust the engine braking.

 

That's what I thought. Both Ginetta G55 Supercup & Super V8 don't have the option to adjust engine braking in car setup.

 

I fix all my braking issues in my G27 with this mod....


This allow me to run any sim at brake pressure at 100% and modulate the force in the braking pedal.

 

What exactly did you do to it?

Well, it does not show us much of decelation capability, but the amount of camera shake in RL is unauthetic
