Made a small video of this problem. Think this might be related to the new gearbox code - if not, sorry for thread hi-jack :p

    Thanks for the explanation Renato.
I still think this needs fine tuning more....

I'm not sure if there's a problem with the MR18 launch. Couldn't reproduce this issue.
If auto-clutch is on, first gear works like a charm. If not, all you have to do is to keep high rpm so you can get out on 1st gear as it should be, with the clutch pedal pressed.

@Thiago Izequiel Something is definately wrong here. Watch the pedal bars in the DynHUD. Even with full throttle the engine does not rev above the rev limit, even though pitlimiter is off. :)

Thanks Renato, glad to know I'm not losing my mind. The Marcas cars were the source of my problem, Auto-clutch on, auto-blip on, paddle shifters.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you haven"t got a clutch pedal.
    How do you do starts?

Pretty sure all our members have 3 pedal sets but even new high end pedal sets from Neils can be bought with only 2 pedals.

Bind a button on your wheel to Clutch and fiddle with the digital clutch slider to set how it behaves.

I can confirm this. Although I have auto blip and lift off.

Every time car stalls at first, rpm doesn't rise above 1990, but after (car) restart works normally. But next time, in the same session, I try to leave pitbox the same happens.

Do I get this right - we have to use the clutch even with auto-clutch on for certain shifts (i.e. from 1st down to neutral)?

That'd be a problem for me, since I don't even have a clutch assigned, no buttons to spare, and I have to use the actual clutch pedal as brake.

Or this this just a bug with auto-clutch on at the moment?

If you have auto-clutch on, you shouldn't need to use your clutch.

Thanks for letting me know! :)

In that case I'll eagerly await the bugfixing/finetuning for this new feature, so that shifting between 1st/neutral/reverse will work properly again on all cars. :D

Auto clutch on, and I cant without manually pressing clutch to shift from N (with revs for example around 2k) to 1st grear,

or switch from N to R same case. Or from 2nd to 1st gear. Still autoclutch

We have an update coming soon to address some such issues shifting out of neutral (and also fine tuning the functionalities in other cars).

The current behaviour is realistic, though. Auto clutch should not disable the need to use the clutch (or a mapped button) for special off-track or launching the car circumstances. It should only automate "normal" shift-related clutch use. Or, separate the two features/aids so they do not cancel each other out. I want to be punished for spinning off the track and rolling the car backwards by having to use the clutch to get back to 1st gear (if I chose a higher skill level or that custom option) whether or not I also chose to use the "auto clutch" aid.

Indeed, but there turned out to be a bug which led to throttle stop responding when you miss the shift out of neutral - that´s what has been addressed.

    Now this system is worse...
I changed how close the gears were to each other and had it allowing me to change down.
With today's update I'm having trouble getting it into second from third.

I'm not blipping and imo not abusing the gearbox.
    Really is an annoying feature.

Just wanted to ask about this as well. Was driving the SuperV8@Bathurst yesterday and it makes me wait annoyingly long until i'm allowed to shift to 2nd, which i need in some crucial turns.
Shifting down to 5th,4th,3rd is possible immediately, but not into 2nd.
I have auto clutch on, and blip is off.

Anything i can adjust in the garage to be able to shift to 2nd sooner ?
    Thanks

Which car? What if you blip (which may be the case that you should be?)? What if you use the clutch (which may be the case that you should be) in those problematic shifts?

Given the number of people who have no idea how to use various manual transmissions, I hope Reiza re-jigs this feature so it is not universal. It should be able to be de-activated (either separately, or as part of the difficulty options). But the realism fans will want it, so don't want it thrown away because of some teething pains or because some people want simpler shifting.
