Yeah I get what you're saying.

    I used to watch F1.
I remember watching Senna crash, sitting in the living room with my Dad watching F1.
Hill, Mansell, Schumacher all of those guys.

Don't watch it anymore since its behind a paywall.
Well, I watch the random ones they televise on Ch4 (I'm in UK)

But yeah, I get your points.

Yes I remember the classics - mansell, senna and Prost - free to air great racing, crap luck for Nigel - Murray and James - RIP. Where have the years gone? So remember 1989 Suzuka - Prost / Senna collision at Casio, Senna in the wall at Monaco 1988, Mansell and Senna 300km/h Barcelona 1991

As a Gazza myself, I was hoping for some variety. :)

Well, the paywall is relative. I started to pay F1TV this year but until then I used to watch a 60fps HD stream somewhere in the web* (or the TV cable transmission that where I am sucks since has a lot of Ads).

This is actually an argument to make the transmission accessible, I'm paying while I could not do so and watch anyway. But I like to have the onboard cams, real-time time tables and that kind of things. But as Dicra said, perhaps most casual users are not like me.

*just in case: streaming copyrighted things is illegal, but in most places watching them is not. Anyway, I'm not endorsing anything here.

Well Kazza and Dazza is taken up for male and female but we seem to have other genders nowadays so maybe one of them can be a Gazza.

How is F1 not behind a paywall in the US?

As far as I understand, it's indeed behind the cable paywall, but it's not something you'd have to pay separately for and it's something that's in a package with a huge load of other TV offers.

It kind of is. Most americans don't care about the racing, they just watch the netflix show.

That is correct. I pay for F1 TV for the simple fact that I don't want to pay for channels and shows that I will never watch. I do certain streaming services only. I really like F1 TV since I am fairly new to F1 and I am able to go back and watch past races and seasons.

F1TV is definitely great, best 5,50 Euros I currently spend monthly. Also for the onboards you can watch, even after the races, so you don't have to rely on the sometimes godawful TV direction completely.
It's not available in every country though; for example in Germany you had to have it until a certain date, after that it was no longer available for the next 5 years. I was one of the ones who grabbed it at the last chance.

Live, uninterrupted IMSA.tv is free to watch in most countries except for the USA. Races are later uploaded to the IMSA YouTube channel.

Every race is free to watch if you're knowledgable enough but I don't condone that of course :whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle: Having official options is always handy though if you live in a country where certain series aren't very popular or if you're just too broke to get cable/paid service subscriptions
