I’ve got a tune in for the V8 Super Car at Montreal and have to say it drives normally now. I have erased all the wandering and can let go of my steering wheel and it will drive straight all the way down the casino straight BUT the FFB is nowhere near the levels I’m used to from Reiza, particularly the wheel strength and road and kerb details.
If I compare it to the AMS2 Porsche GT Cup car 4.0 ( which is an outstanding, top drawer sim racing car ) at Montreal, the Porsche is flooding me with details and I feel connected to the track and can really feel kerbs and bumps in the track.
The V8 Super Car is more like blurgh in comparison and you feel almost completely disconnected from the track. You get the odd subtle reminder going over a bump at Montreal that you are on a circuit, but other than that it’s very very vague.
I have in game car specific gain set to 94% for the majority of cars and a couple at 90%. I have cranked the V8 to 125%, 140% and 150% and the FFB is nowhere near the same standards as the amazing FFB in other AMS2 cars.
This car is so close to being amazing and I know we have all waited over two years to get this close, but please next update, let the V8 be king!
    Thank you!

Yes, the Audi V8 would indeed be a great addition.

Also...talking about DTM: if Reiza someday is able to add more DTM cars I'm all for the 1995 season / cars:

How long are the races you are doing? I am doing a 67 F1 season and so far it has given me some amazing races akin to GP4. Had a 60 lap race in Brands Hatch with Clark dominating the first half until he had to pit to fix some failure, Brabham inherited the lead with me close behind until I binned it. Stewart got to second but retired, Hulme then came from fifth (after having a clash with Surtees earlier) to second and ended up winning the race after Brabham spun with 3 laps to go, while Clark managed to climb back to 3rd after losing a minute in the pits. It was an amazing race, not unlike they were back in the day.
Sure, the Ai still needs a lot of improvements, specially overtaking on the inside by out braking opponents, but they are leagues better than AC.

Neat. I'm extremely critical of AMS2 AI (or any sim AI for that matter), but reading your post seems like it was a fun experience. Could you share your strength/aggression settings?

    Well a
I am mainly driving 10 laps races and very often see 4-5 cars battling for first place at the end of the race. Then when I catch them I know to overtake them in one corner. Obviously you are using custom AI files so maybe you get different result, but for me out-of-box AI is not working well in terms of field spread.

The AI in AC is the reason why AC is a great “driving simulator” but a terrible “racing simulator”. AC is great for hot lapping but running against AI is nearly impossible. AMS2 imo now has the second best AI in sim racing, closely behind iRacing.

Reading a lot about DTM etc...don't mind me, it is great content but difficult to achieve IMO (happy to be proven wrong) so I would aim to Mercedes Benz Challenge (with older seasons models too)

Max aggression and 105% strength. However as Ivan Jurković said, I am using a custom AI file, so that is the main reason of the ai behaviour. It's extremely easy to set up a custom AI though, specially thanks John B. Ellis NAMeS and Jusk AI files. So I recomend doing it on at least the main car classes that you use.

Assetto Corsa’s AI is the reason I decided to move on from it, much as I love it it was s starting to feel like parade procession at a certain point in the race…

I had more than 120GB in AC's installation. As I don't do offline racing anymore (no time for leagues or scheduled races and no patience for open servers) all I used it was for practice and "track day sim" (because the A"I" from AC resembles a lot some folks that we can met at RL TDs... realistic in it's own way lol).

Deleted right after AMS2 became available and never again had the will to reinstall.

Result of my own mistake :D

Tried your settings and the custom files, its okay-ish, but all the issues with AI still stand. For example, at the last corner at Kyalami 100% of the AI, regardless of skill, will go wide and slow, so 100% of the time I can overtake them there.

This sort of predictability is one of the things that kill the fun for me. That and the fact one AI can't overtake other AI when they clearly should. For example, in this race one AI spun out of the track and rejoined, proceeding to start racing again, although slowly. Obviously I overtook it easily, but the AI which was closely following me actually slotted in behind the slow AI....

If everyone is rejoicing AMS2 AI but I am not, then I think I might be too demanding and possibly would be happier if I managed to lower my expectations. Will try my best to suspend disbelief next time I play offline.

AI is far from perfect, but it's more lively than the AC "train" AI. Plenty of space for improvements but given the constant physics changes it doesn't make sense to recalibrate AI as it's a waste of developers time. Apparently with 1.4 the physics reached the maturity, so I believe this would give a green light for AI work in terms of having reliable speeds. We'll see as it would be good to see some more improvements in this area.

The AI is pretty fun to race against in my opinion but I think it just needs some tuning for per-corner consistency, less offroading and far less mid-corner brake checking

I agree about the AI being so-so, but it definitely not bad when compared to the other sims I play. The thing that gives me hope is that it seems a top priority for Reiza and seeing how far overall they have come with the last couple of updates I am sure they will get it done.

The ghosted cars are there to prevent people to crash into each other. Specially when people don't pay attention. Ofcourse I noticed people also use the ghosted form to by pass and cheat the 'positions'. Specially during/after greenlight.
