    as always.
post your scripts and override liveries and someone will help.
There are too many options to do something wrong to guess whats up.
"It does not work" is too few to analyze ;)

i think you need a subfolder and then added this to the path=
Do you really love long file names with "template" in the name ?? XD

BTW a zipfile with the full folder is better than a screen shot.

ok I will try it. Funny with the BMW ProCar it would not work with the subfolder and the retro Gen1 it does not work without subfolder. Reiza has there probably a small mess. The BT44 does not have its own folder with the name BT44 is also strange.

    thats wrong.
    Something you're doing not right.
I released 20 M1 proCars and that are definitely in a subfolder.
The default is definitely to use a subfolder.
The BT44 was released as one of the first overridden cars and there they made a little mistake.
And never changed it. Its ok i think.

I and some other guys on the discord released 100reds of liveries there and on RD and most times when somthing was not working, it was on the creators, not understanding the system, making typo's, or simply are not careful enough ;)
Don't get me wrong, but I would say, the small mess is on your side ;)

We all have memory moments... ;)

This is probably in the "Not a priority to fix" thread as it doesn't break the game, but it would be nice to have all the licensed cars named correctly...

ok, my mistake . So the BMW was a coincidence that the works without subfolder. I didn't get it to work with a subfolder until I moved the files to the original folder. As soon as I am back from my short trip I will try again. One more question does it matter where the subfolder is created?

i think the path to the specific override folder of a car is automatically added, so a full path like D:\myAMS2Cars\blablabla would not work.
In this case every subfolder is a folder beneath the specific override xml.
Like written in the ..._dist xmls.
    Remember? path="subfolder\......."

    a very simple rule btw
If the game shows the original liveries, the xml is not recognized, eg syntax error, forgotten semnicolons or similar.
If the game shows red or white liveries, the override is recognized, but there is a problem with the dds. e.g. file not found, wrong format, etc

Can someone explain to me why my previews are a bit blurry compared to some *.dds I made a while back? Has it something to do with the options in the DDS save dialog (Photoshop & Nvidia plugin)?

I've been struggling with getting the Reiza style previews, got no idea how to a consistent shot... So I've just been placing team name and car numbers on them...

I've been saving in BC3 linear DXT5 format and haven't noticed anything blurry...

The 2d workflow takes too long for my schedule, so slapping down a pattern and adorning it with some color trim has been my official guilty pleasure.

OK, my trick i do to get the same camera position for preview is....
    • run the game in a window
    • when you go to showroom, click back out of the game, with it still being viewable
    • the cameras will cycle through different angles but holds the first frame, so you get time to take a pic
    • wait until its the side angle, take a screenshot.
    • cut out around the car and the windows and make a preview image.
    • i normally resize the car to 77% of the size in the screenshot

I can't get the skin to run. I have tried to include the subfolder in every possible way. However, it always shows me only the original skin. Do I need to put the customized xml in the subfolder as well. Does the subfolder have to be in the override folder or in the original Lotus_72e folder. Is my XML wrong?

I'm having an issue where I can't get the fresnel layer to work specifically on the C8.R GTE. Not sure if it's a bug or what (in which case should I also post in bugs?) but here is an attached file of a pure black fresnel layer that's giving me 0 chrome effect but works fine if I copy it to other cars and change xml name.

This is currently an issue for several cars as I don’t think they’ve enabled shader access for 100% of them yet, the MetalMoro AJR is another one where shader scripting doesn’t seem to be functional at this time, the C8R as well (unless I’m doing something wrong, but I tried the same process on these as with other cars)

    Trick, or genius problem solving..?!

    Thanks a lot for sharing!

Was resigned to making car logos as previews or something similar - some made by others look pretty sweet but I do prefer to have it look like it was meant to be in the game, if that makes any sense. Yours look great thanks again!
