Ok people so we're interested in hearing from you what audio setup you use on your sim rig. You can select multiple answers. (some might use speakers during the day, but headphones over night etc). You can write about your soundcards, what type it is, are you just using digital output to speakers / surround receiver, or analog outs to whatever, powered speaker set, analog stereo amp etc.. Surround headphones or ordinary ones, or headset perhaps. Do you use some sort of "speaker virtualization" on headphones, like Dolby Headphone, or like Creative CMSS-3D or some other HRTFs etc.. Thanks all in advance.
I know nothing about audio. I just plug my Logitech z323 2.1 speakers to the headphone jack of my Samsung ATIV Book 6 notebook.
My choice of audio setup is restricted to the game. Currently i just run stereo headphones as there is no point trying to use surround in any form as its not implemented. If this was to change and be done well id love to find a good surround sound set of headphones to drive with. I also have my PC set up to a projector with surround sound speakers so spectating an event with proper 5.1 would be fantastic.
Thanks for the audio consideration and improvements. I use a Klipsch surround system when multiple people are playing or Sennheiser HD555 headphones alone at night.
On-board sound (gigabyte GA-Z77 series motherboard), stereo speakers for general gaming but Oculus Rift headphones for all things VR. Sometimes switch to stereo speakers for VR when my ears need a rest! I would like to go back to a 5.1 setup one day.
Asus DX 7.1 + 5.1 setup during day Asus DX 7.1 + Superlux HD 681 Evo (virtual surround on) during night, better than any 5.1 native headset...
Two bookshelf "near-field monitors" and a small cheap Chinese 2.1 amp through onboard audio on the system I play AMS.
