    ACC is going with UE4, so I would imagine it works very well for race simulation. It most definitely handles multiple light sources more efficiently than the ancient, resource-hogging ISI software. This means night racing without the large performance drops. Given the great things Reiza has achieved with bad software, I would imagine they could do incredible things with access to a well-coded engine.

    lol rF code is not bad, it's just old, done in very different times with different limitations.
    It is still the best one available if you want to make a race game, it saves years of development. ;)

    Kunos has had to do quite a bit of preparatory work to get UE4 working as they wished. I'm sure Reiza has looked at a lot of options. Good luck to both firms. Italy vs Brazil is always a classic! :D

    Short answer is no, it hasn´t been decided (in the sense that evaluations of other engines for various purposes are still ongoing).

    Long answer is, we´ve licensed the ISIMotor source code aiming to use it on the long run, with AMS being only the starting point. We´ve done all our content and quite a bit of coding already on top of the original code base, most notably on physics, audio, AI. It is thus most likely our next title will have a lot of ISIMotor in it one way or another to build on that baseline although even that is not set in stone - things can change quickly in this business, suddenly something that seemed unlikely may become the best path forward :)

    While I appreciate the feeling that´s a bit of a misconception - GMotor and some other aspects in the code base are certainly dated and that presents it´s challenges / limitations, but a lot of what we have achieved is inherent to the potential we found in ISIMotor, which is not something one can easily put together or find elsewhere. We wouldn´t have stuck with it if we found it was more trouble than it was worth :)

    Just like to add my 2 cent's worth, please don't construe this as me trying to dictate terms to Renato et al. I fully understand that gMotor has advantages to Reiza development wise, but apart from its nice antialiasing, there seem to be very few other advantages to the actual user: dynamic lighting and shadowing; car and track shaders (particularly wet); post fx; UI and HUD; animations; VR, etc etc, gMotor lags a long long way behind current standards. Very few people have issues with the content polish/consistency and rock solid core driving/racing experience delivered by Reiza's pMotor wrangling of FFB, physics and AI, but in all honesty coming back to AMS from other titles feels like driving in a cartoon despite superhuman efforts by the devs to work around gMotor's shortcomings. Regardless of when Reiza 201? comes out, I'll be a bit disappointed if it's gMotor based gfx. I'll buy it and support it, but I'll be disappointed.

    Renato talks about ISIMotor...so gmotor isn't the main problem, I think they are still looking for what can be a good alternative.

    The AMS physics is already very good.
