Auto detail levels

I may be completely wrong here, but I have the impression that there used to be this "auto detail level" option in the graphics settings menu. Does my memory deceive me or it has really been removed? I know there's one such option in rFactor2, so since it'a a similar engine, is there any way to enable it to AMS as well?

 

Probably through the *.PLR file inside the folder with you name.
