yes here is msportdan with an AI thread lol Can hear Renatos sigh from here!

Obviously PC2 AI wasn't "that" great in the rain and even in the dry. Whats the proposition for AI in AMS2 are they using AMS AI code? and will they have a block line like rf2?

And please make them as bad thru puddles as the player was!

That's pretty much my major concern from PC2, im sure you will do wonder with the physics, and the ffb in some cars in immersive wasn't half bad on a t300.

the AI is bad in Project cars 2, it's a train, a snake, they can't fight each others, after the 1st lap, all the AI follow each others with exactly the same gap between....Project car 2 AI is a big fail compared to AMS AI.....BUT the AI in project cars 2 have not the stupid on/off brake like rFactor 2, shame on rF2 !

But online Project cars 2 is a must have....

Our only hope is Reiza was able to port AI from AMS to AMS2.
AI was the best on the market (IMO) so would be a shame loosing it, pretty graphics is useless if you didn't enjoy the race due to poor AI...

Ah here we go, the uninformed bashing :D

Maybe if you setup the AI aggro to over 50 and to 100 strength the game would actually be fun, but hey they're working together on this and it will be great for both parties. I've had a lot of fun races in both games against the AI and I have no doubt this will be great as well

Granted there's the odd combo in pc2 that's fun as long as no weather's involved that is. I ran overr 90 for both ai in pc2. But it was a sterile ai nothing near either ams or rf2 Or even acc.

I’ll say one thing that pretty much applies equally to AI, physics, audio which I think most agree were some of the strongest points of AMS1... Nothing can be ported over like a copy&paste flick of a switch - some fronts will demand a lot of work, others less. At the same time we would not have made the move if it meant starting any of those fronts from scratch. Most things are in good shape already and it will only get better.

I didn't played pc2 that much but PC2's AI could be very easy under 100.
And ye i agree with you @Msportdan rF2/AMs in term of AI are untouchables.
After those i can say R3E is very good too.

Maybe a discount for 1-4 backers on the final price...
    Level 1 = 10%
    Level 2 = 15%
    Level 3 = 20%
    Level 4 = 25%
This way what you pay is the upgrade fee (75$ is the base price for the perks including new title + DLC so...)

"it would be much riskier, time consuming and expensive - and thus ultimately impossible for us - to try build the features the MADNESS engine has to the same level around the AMS1 engine"

Now I'm sure that it will be arcade :) get ready for the tears, Project cars 2 bashing is incoming to AMS2....same engine, same problems....can't play AMS2 with Project cars 2 AI, no way, sorry.

"Moreover the physics, Audio and AI fronts are for the most part an evolution of what we were already used to"

Sad, it's the only one sentence about the most important part : physics/FFB.
When they try to defend the MADNESS engine, but now I know that the main reason of this engine choice is the graphics...Not bad I like the Project cars 2 graphics, except the aliasing and shadows....

Finally i wonder if I'm not more excited for a future AC content port to UE4 after the ACC success.

I have a technical question that hopefully you can answer :) In PC 2, the AI, aside from being ridiculously incompetent in most ways, also appear in-game and on replays as though someone with a game pad is driving them...the front wheels revealing almost continuous small and rapid back and forth adjustments. This is quite off-putting from a realism point of view, even for a casual racing game. My question is, "Are the AI actually behaving in that jerky manner, or is it just some sort of graphical artifact related to the lower calibre of physics that we know all AI cars use in every sim?
