Oh my, I feel like I just
Years ago, I played F1 99-02, and one of the add-on's was a 1975 season. I loved it!
After moving on to other sims, I yearned for an F1 simulator that could run the earlier formula 1 seasons but actually worked in Windows 10! I pretty much gave up. Even with modern F1 titles, they had a "retro" option but that was just to drive around a track. Nothing that simulated a season.

Now I load up AMS and find a 1976 season, complete with cars, drivers, and superb sounds!!!
The old tracks, the signs, the .. wow.. just.. wow!!
Imagine running a formula 1 race where I still have to use my H-shifter!! I'm so happy!!!

WHY WERE YOU HIDING THIS FROM ME!!!?!?????

I feel like I've been asleep for 10 years!!!!

Thank you Reiza!!! I'm afraid I won't need AMS2, as these retro seasons will keep me busy for a LOONNGG TIME!!!

I may even have to skip the modern Stock car season lol!!!

I really need to pay attention :)

And if you look around, you will find authentic skins for the cars to make things just that much better.

Wow. I guess I will end up with AMS 2 then lol!
Is there a way to get the older cars to pit for fuel? I always run full length races but it is telling me refueling is not allowed.

Select the last car icon on main menu (all cars and tracks) then select the car you wanna race and the track, this should override the car class rules.
(Sorry, not on main PC so I am trying to remember on the fly lol)

Ok. a little confused.. I'm having a hard time finding that..when playing a championship, I could not find any place to change this in the championship settings.. or am I confusing this with another screen? Once in the championship, I would go into the car setup area and a message said "refueling not allowed.." or something like this.. I'm concerned about not just my car but also the AI cars.. or is this the standard rule? If I play a full length race (1970s mods) will the cars have enough fuel to get to the end lol?

@Jeff Scharpf well, you will find the "all cars and tracks" icon on main menu (the one where you select the car to race with).
About custom championship you are forced to use car class rules based on selected car class when you create it.

Cars that cannot (or were not allowed to) refuel in real life are usually set by default the same way in AMS. As mentioned, you can make up your own rules and combinations by using the non-series "All Cars and Tracks" at the bottom centre of the series selection screen.
