With my T500RS recommended gain in control panel is 60 because stronger and it overheat quickly and forces are fading. Just clicking on the default button to check recommended settings (I guess, it's my case)...

It's no science, just click Standard/Default and you see...;)
Raise the Gain ingame,in all games you play, not in CP!
    Otherwise overheating etc.

With my T300 the overall FFB feels great, but I have a weird problem, where mid turn there is a really rough / grindy / notchy feel, which I do not feel (or at least not to this extent) in other games.

Most notable is brasil stock car. I do not think it is clipping, because it seems independent of gain / LFB / FX setting.

Typically I have 70-75 in CP Thrustmaster
    In game: 65/40/40/30.

The notchy feel is also very noticable when the stock car is standing still and I am turning the wheel left and right.

Wondering if it is the game or my wheel? This weekend I think I am going to service the wheel a bit.

In raceroom with cars with much higher ffb (to the point of clipping) I don't feel this at all. So it does make me believe that the wheel is ok.

Oh yeah. 75% is the 100% for Thrustmaster. Anything above means the Trustmaster is likely going break earlier.

I have it too. I'm using a lot more recon filter than other sims to filter it out on my Simucube 1.

I'm using everything at 100% in CP for 6 years and 3500 hours and my wheel is still in perfect condition. But i have set my fan to always on.

LFB and FX to zero should help. Otherwise, try the custom FFB by LexxVR.

In the meantime, Reiza are working on revising the FFB.

Rocco,we are talkin' about the Gain, nothing else and as Thrustmaster advice you NOT to push the gain higher as the suggested predefined setting, max 5%,so it is 75-85 GAIN,depending on the installed rim. Also, you have another wheel.I wouldn't play with fire except you have plenty of money to buy a new one:D2.There are many quality differences in the wheelsThrustmaster manufactures in China. It is just win or loose, what you get for youre money.
Overheating an bad FFB is what you get and in Summer, temperature rises.
But everyone as he likes:)For me not,as loosing warranty too.

Setting the CP over the recommended values not only shortens the lifespan of the wheel but also makes the forces put out unlinear.
If you want consistent ffb throughout the force range set the gain to default.
You can easily evaluate this by using the WheelCheck app.

Loosing a wheelbase is never funny. They are mostly not the friendliest devices to repair yourself if you run out of warranty. Even sending then under warranty is annoying. Pedals and shifters are much easier to repair. Sometimes I worth to see how it works. Rims are unbreakable, unless the spring of the paddles snap, but also easy to replace. Only the bolts are sometimes annoying because you can warp the bolts...
