Ok sorry for being a pain but i tried what you said, and i hear the crew chief tell me about the track temp, air temp, and the green flag part but as soon as a car is next to me i dont hear him say anything about a car being there. I tried a fresh install and no change.
i use USB 7.1 headphones but they are plugged in before launching AMS and CrewChief and when i start the application i do not hear "Radio Check"
If you cant fix it, it doesn't matter ill just use it without that setting :)

there's an "enable_spotter" setting on the properties screen - make sure that's 'ticked'. You can also issue a voice command ("spot" or "don't spot") to toggle the spotter on / off during a session, or you can assign a button on your wheel to toggle the spotter on / off.

Also bare in mind that the spotter doesn't start calling 'car left'/'car right' until 20 seconds after the race start (by default) - this is set in the time_after_race_start_for_spotter property

Under these conditions the app won't work:
Server set to MULTI Num Race Sessions=2
So it moves to Race 2 after the end of the first one and the grid is reversed.
In race 1 it works fine, but as soon as it changes to race 2 it doesnt anymore. Was going to copy the log but closed the program by mistake before doing that, is the log saved anywhere? :(
As I only found out about it in the race I didn't have time to close the app and open it again to see it would work, but using the hotkey to turn it on/off didn't help

i'm very sorry about that. My bad, my AMS Beta had the .dll plugin but my AMS-install hadn't. Realised this a little to late :-(

Can you add a setting for the install directory, I don't have it installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Britton IT Ltd\CrewChiefV4\ and at every update I have to browse to my install

And, disappointingly, fixing it properly is hard and time-consuming. So it'll stay like that I'm afraid

You could add another 30 or so to the rFactorSharedMemoryMap.dll downloads.
Some of my drivers couldn't find it (Don't ask me how). Anyway, I uploaded it to Dropbox and they got it from there.
    Great stuff guys...

Still got a massive backlog of driver names to add - life's a bit chaotic at the moment but I will definitely get round to it "soon"

How does the driver names feature actually work? Does the spotter use the driver names when telling you gaps, who's pitting etc?

yes, if the app has a name for the driver the spotter will use it instead of generic "the car ahead" type stuff.

For AI drivers the app will look for a last name in its set of name recordings (AI drivers tend to have sensible names where the first name and last name are easy to get from the displayed name). For online races the displayed name is a bit more difficult to interpret. The app will attempt to get a last name (some drivers do use their real names) and it'll use it if it's available. The app also has a couple of mapping files - names.txt and additional_names.txt. These map a driver name to read out to an in-game name -

The text before the : should be the name of a file in driver names folder, without the extension

If I remember it, I can set the app to call my name during race...can you write a guide for dummyes to activate it please?
My real name is David, I don't care about other names or AI names to be honest...
