    Another week of intense housekeeping as we approach v1.0 release - once again a lot of the focus has been on physics / FFB, with a lot of fine-tuning resulting in another good step forward all around, as the handling for most cars now become pretty representative of our v1.0 target. From now on most of the physics work will concentrate on reviewing fuel consumption, tyre & engine wear, temps & reliability properties.

    On the AI side we haven´t yet concluded implementing the new AI Strength logic, so for those struggling with AI speed in lower settings we ask for a little more patience until we finalize this development tol provide more consistent performance accross the AI Strength range. In the meantime setting around 90-110% AI Strength and 50% Aggression have been quite thoroughly callibrated and should provide the best racing.

    3D Animations for wipers, suspension, drivers & other moveable car parts are finally beginning to come in, although only one minor item added in this update (animated suspension arms for F-Trainer from external view) - all the remaining exports should flow very quickly from here.

    Last but not least, the Dedi tool is now available from the Tools Library on Steam - please check further information about the tool, how set it up and run it as well as post feedback / reports about it here.

    For those wondering about upcoming content, please hold for more information in our May Development update coming up tomorrow.

    Some really positive stuff in there regarding AI racing - it feels like with the updates mentioned above, once the strength slider is working we'll be in good shape.

    Can't wait to test it out tomorrow. Thanks Reiza!

    There are a few strange things about the pad support now, which I'm pretty sure I haven't experienced before.

    I didn't feel any different behaviour from the cars, so I deleted the AMS documents folder. After that, the game does no longer recognize the size of my TV in the menus, so it's scaling to something like 21:9 instead of 16:9. I haven't yet found out where I can manually change that.

    However, apart from that, there is suddenly a steering deadzone even when the value is set to zero, which is supremely annoying - I'm accustomed to the stick reacting to the slightest of touches, and it simply refuses to do so as of now, which leads to very twitchy driving for me.

    Also, whenever I change my controls, the gearbox resets itself to "automatic", even though I'm driving with manual gears, and has to be changed back.

    Apart from that, the speed sensitivity slider continues to be a very much missed option. Pad drivers want to be able to turn into corners, too :D
    As of now, competitive racing in lobbies with locked setup is impossible. Competitive racing with karts is impossible. Please, us controller players need that option, and I really don't think it'd be a good idea to release V 1.0 without it.

    I'd love to comment on the physics changes, but the issues with my input device make that impossible, sadly :/ The mysterious deadzone is really, really awkward to drive with. I hope there's just been something wrong with the booting of my controller, otherwise I'll have to refrain from playing this week.

    Man!! AMS 2 is now my go-to sim racing. The FFB (w/ custom settings) is simply the best BY FAR!! Even ACC doesn't do this type of understeer tire scrub or the degree of the front suspension feeling... Go Reiza!!! Release Dirt cars and monster trucks now! ;)

    Most of the time I am only reading this forum and lurking the information in it, but now here to just let the whole Reiza-team know that all your effort is highly highly appreciated!!
    I cannot test every update, or give you the most appropriate feedback through my lack of experience and knowledge. But every time I notice a bug or a glitch, I know I have to patiently wait 1 or 2 updates et voila: that bug or glitch is mentioned in the release notes of an update.

    Keep up this supreme work as I think I can speak on behalf of all those 'quiet' lovers of this game that are forgiving the glitches during this development-phase and just awaiting how the game evolves week after week after week!!!

    Thanks!

    Bless you all at Reiza! The P3 Roco at Oulton Park International is now fair and fun to race with AI, thank you so much! I’m racing S 100% and A 50% and it’s now quality AI racing. I’m no longer constantly checking my mirrors scared stiff I’m about to get punted on every corner and the AI no longer unfairly pass me on the straights with their bonus DRS effect. I have noticed if I start in pole position the AI is well behaved, but if I start in 5th or 7th the AI tend to have crashes and incidents with themselves regularly. This morning I was chasing down 2nd and 3rd place cars and they tangled with themselves, both got air born and flew side ways off the track at Oulton Park giving me two cheap positions. Thank you for reading the forums, investigating issues we report and indeed fixing them. To enjoy the Roco’s at Oulton Park against the AI has made my weekend. Thank you !

    Logitech G920 steering wheel
    LogitechHub Profile Default (50-50-50 Spring 10)
    Game Setting Sensitive Default (50-50-50) and Deadzone all to 0

    Regarding the FFB Default of the new update 0.9.5.1
    I can say that it was a big improvement this time, I am very happy and perhaps it is even more beautiful than the 0.9.2.1 version that I liked a lot (I did not like the 0.9.3.1/2 version not at all and I was very frustrated).

    Having said that, my personal feelings, on this update 0.9.5.1 and on my cheap steering wheel, were these:
    - The GAIN has not undergone any particular changes compared to the previous versions, therefore only small adjustments but in the end I stabilized on 85;
    - LFB now needs a bit higher values than before to fill the center and the dead zone, until 0.9.2.1 80-85 was enough, with 0.9.3.1/2 I kept it around 90, now with this version I keep it up to 95 without anomalies;
    - FX same speech, even the maximum septum at 100 (up to values around 75 you don't hear much).

    So in summary we have GAIN 85 LFB 95 FX 100 ... for me it's wonderful, so congratulations to Reiza for the good job who made me very happy today !!!! :hurrayreiza:
    This game is becoming the reference automotive SIM and it is beating all the competitor on almost all fronts. :)

    Regardless of my experience, I hope that all of you are comfortable with other brands of steering wheels and that this base can be used for version 1.0 of the game, on which you can then apply further detail improvements in the future.

    Give it a rest man, you asked this question multiple times in a previous thread and got multiple answers. The answer is not going to magically change just cos you ask the same question again!!
