I am pretty sure the avx is the VR version, please someone correct me if I'm wrong. I use it to trigger my Oculus Tray Tool app to load my Oculus settings for this game.

If you launch the game via STEAM and select any of the VR options on Steam's launch menu for the game, it launches the AVS version, not the regular version.

    AVX is the better version.
The other version is for really old CPUs as fallback which are not supporting the AVX extension.
I had this problem in pcars2 with my old system which had an AMD Phenom II X6.
If you manually start the AVX version with such an old CPU the game is crashing.
