Funny: no, take a look at 0:08 min, there you see longitudinal groove
But with these poor grooves it doesn't wonder me anymore that driving in rain is very slippery

Report: In pits, extremely loud V8 idling noise (I think) kicks in as soon as the car is put into gear, and persists until car leaves the pits.

I think what you report is an attempt to make the engine sound like when it has the pit limiter engaged (which I reported this a day or so ago), but unfortunately they have bound this sound effect to being in the pits rather than when the limiter is engaged.

did not help here, game still crashes when trying to save a setup.

Report: If it rains, and you with the other cars go into pits, when your pit is done and you are ready to go, game crashes. It may be track and car Independent

 

This has happened in the past when the rain tire for the vehicle was not defined properly (i.e., trying to pick something that doesn't exist or mis-labelled, etc.). Did you try different wet scenarios and confirm what tires are on the car in the Telemetry HUD?

 

That happened twice in the specific track. All cars were on slicks - i suppose - cause the start of the race was with clear weather (didnt check it though), 5 lap race and pitted on 3rd lap (if i remember correctly). They entered pit, i went with them.

I stopped the car in my crew, filled with gas, changed tyres (i guess on wets) and by the time i had to leave pits game crashed

 

After a bit of fiddling, I think the problem is any Copa Classic (B) car loading if the track is wet. If the track is already wet (via that setting or random weather picks wet), the game won't even load the track. If it becomes wet, the problem happens when you go to the pits. Why (I suspect)?:

• There is no wet tire option for these cars, only a slick
  • The default set-up for tires is "Automatic by Weather," so the game is likely trying to load a wet tire that doesn't exist
  • In reality, the tires on the cars are probably "all weather," but not set as such so the game knows to ignore the tire change for wet...or something like that

Report started game setup race no engine sound, all other sounds ok including menu and music.
check options all ok. leave and restart session same thing at Interlagos.
opting in menu with mouse intermittent and long, esc reboot game same thing with laggy menu but car sound ok
verify files 1 missing, would not correct so
Will reinstall game from scratch

 

This was due to resolution this end. The cursor was not highlighting the panel it was hovering over but an adjacent one.
After reinstalling game the sound issue has normalised and all is well
