Not so long ago, at least 2 people (can't remember who it was, sorry) here in the Forum reported using speed controlled fans in their rig setup. This morning I stumbled up on a video from Sim Racing Garage (great guy, by the way) testing a wind generator for Sim Rigs:
You might not want a wind generator on your rig. You get dry skin, dry and red eyes and muscle pain due wind blowing on your skin. In real life they used goggles to overcome this, and dirt or/and damage to the eyes.
My "wind generator" is a fan blowing on my to keep me cool. I can't say it does anything for immersion when driving open-wheelers since I don't even notice it most of the time.
i race in a 35-40 degree room with 80-100% humidity and no ac.. My wind generators.. i mean fans.. are going full bawl..
Wind is your friend in VR! These headsets get toasty! I thought it was amazing when I set up my rig under my ceiling fan in front of my air conditioner blast... it was quite immersive!
I have such a system from another manufacturer. In Vr, it was cooling and immersive. The headset covers your eyes perfectly. Now playing on an ultrawide, I have it turned off.
