As some people stated once that the game would not remember a certain cockpit view for each car, it does.

Do not adjust the cam via options/camera/FoV, because this is for all cars ingame.
Just bind keys in options/controls/camera and view for seat up/down, seat angle and so on. when using these keys in game for adjusting cockpit view, it saves the view just for the class of cars you are actually driving.

No racing game calling itself a sim should be allowed to change the overall view covering all cars every time you just change the view for an individuel car.

As @Jebus just mentioned, no it doesn't.

And even if it did, it would be useless to save by class, since classes can have so many different vehicles. It needs to save by vehicle type....when Reiza gets around to doing it.

I edited the seat position for the F-Classic Gen 3 M1 to show the cockpit from the bottom of the LED screen.
I edited the seat position of the Model 3 to show the cockpit far too high to be able to see the road.

    I quit AMS2 and restarted.

I went to a different circuit, loaded the M1 and still the LED screen was at the bottom of the picture.
I loaded the M3 and still couldn't see the road.

So it saves the seat position in my game by model just as the OP describes.

That is standard in this engine. Works the same as in Pcars2.

Has saved for me the whole time, but there has also been people requesting it the whole time too.

I'l go try it again now, but have no idea why I have to keep making the same "corrections" to certain cars over and over. And yes, this experience combined with the repeated requests from others to fix this caused me to believe it was not fixed.

Just tested. Only saves global camera, wonder when that has changed because didn't work like that before to me. But still no save per car in my game.

Strange, game saves all my cockpit cams for each car. Do not have to adjust them a second time.

While at it, camera changes also at times when entering a server, despite my default set to cockpit. Is there a server setting that changes driver's view?

I think there's a setting to force everyone into cockpit view, but that shouldn't make any difference if you're already in that view.

There is probably a slightly annoying bug involved in this because if you as example is spectating a MP race then both your view and your car will afterwards when you return to your normal mode (non spectating) be changed to the exact car you were spectating.
The solution is ofcourse quite easy (reselect your car + skin + track) but its anyway a small pain in the ass:cool:

Hmm, will check that out. I've spectated a few times (like when late to join), but OTOH, I don't remember using roof/bonnet view, but in the server it starts at one of those in the garage. Will also observe after watching a replay.

Doesn't work for me! Does anyone who has it save per car or class know where it is being stored in AMS2 files?

    there are 2 cockpit views.
The default cockpit camera and the helmet camera.
If you set helmet to off, both look the same.
But maybe just the default cockpit camera is saved.
If you disabled helmet you don't know which camera you're on and if above is right, then your view isn't saved when on the wrong camera.
Just a guess. Didn't test it.
