Lots of fun again last night with a mix of cars, Ginetta, Caterham Superlight and Formula V10, 20 plus racing, will be more this Sunday!

 

BMW M3 and Merc 190 tonight, should be fun.

 

AMS 2 - All about racing!

Slow Cars, Non-technical tracks, still challenging!

Tonight will be about racing racing racing. The car and track choice is uncompromising simple meaning you'll get up to speed quickly and be able to run wheel to wheel for longer with less chance for mistakes!

One of the great things about the Daytona Oval days on R3E was how much of a leveler it was in terms of reducing skill gaps. The slip stream and drafting aspect of the track meant that slower guys had a chance to catch up to the faster guys if they could get into the slip stream.

Tonights track choices are all about trying to maximise this effect within a more road racing style environment and whilst maintaining some challenge. As such, setups will be off, damage will be off and fuel use will also be off.

The track selection tonight is about having to think about only a few corners. The vast majority of the racing will be taking place on the straights, of which, there will be many!

The car choice is the formula trainer. I know people prefer tin tops but I promise you, this car is a lot of fun to drive with plenty of power and agile in the corners whilst not being so overpowered as to make the gaps between fast and super faster drivers even bigger.

If you've ever done iRacing and had a go at the Skip Barber cars, this is what we're aiming for. Slip stream battles are prominent in skip barber racing because the cars are so slow and the tracks wide and long.

AMS 2 - The West Virginia International Raceway Acclamation program!

Tonight fellow sim racers we'll be taking on the challenging, but rewarding, West Virginia International Raceway.

The full course features a total of 45 corners - so there's a lot to learn. But worry not, Hackz has got you covered. We'll start by tackling the South course layout featuring a tame 10 corners.

After digesting the South course we'll then switch to the North course, a more complex layout, featuring 22 corners.

After tackling the two sides of the course in isolation, we'll join them together for the 'Full' course layout which will feature, the mathematicians in the audience should've already have guessed it, 32 corners

But we're not finished there. There's still the Grand layout which features a complex, rolling set of corners in the infield which address another 13 corners leaving us with a total of 45 corners to master.

No small feat but fear not, we'll be tackling this beast of a circuit in the tame P4 MCR2000. A grippy, light, but not overly powerful, open top prototype car.

So, keep your hands and arms inside the car as we take on this rollercoaster of a circuit andddd... catch you out on track!

AMS 2 - A Very British Happy Halloween Haunting

Join us for the spooking of your life as we take iconic British tracks and British Cars
around thick fog laden circuits in the midst of the night!

Qualy will start late in the evening with very mild conditions that will progressively get worse.
This is to give you a sense of foreboding and dread as the conditions worsen into the night.

By the end of qualy, conditions will be at their worst and evening will having transitioned into night.
Race conditions will be fixed and unchanging.

Who'll make it through the night and who'll be taken by the dark?

AMS 2 - Open A Can 'Oh Whoopass - Rookie Flavour

More open top cars this evening but with a twist - They're super slow and wobbily!

No downforce to speak of, no slicks either and only 106bhp, these cars ain't going any where quickly! But that's great, scientists say that studies show that slower cars make for better racing, so lets 'av at it!

We'll be doing all 2 rounds of Kansai east, one dry and one wet, followed by a longer session around the full course.

Should make for an exciting yet accessable evening racing and I can't wait to...

Ultima GTR Race @ Montreal

Montreal has always been one of my favourite tracks, even before the epic F1 race of 2011.

At first taste, the Ultima doesn't seem too fitting at this venue, it's brakes are a little poor for the big stops required at the chicanes.. but after some amount of practice, negotiating those chicanes becomes something of a joy.. and to top it off, you get to unleash the glorious bellow of that V8 down the back straight of the track!

**Formula V10 Gen1 @ Spielberg**

Some of you may die.. Not all will survive..

We've avoided the hardcore open wheelers thus far, but now that comes to an end..!

Yet still I'm taking it easy on you.. Try these around Jerez and you'll see what I mean!

There aren't too many tracks that these particularly 'flow' around.. and what I really wanted to use is DLC.. So maybe that's for another day!

Spielberg works well in these, not too hectic to cope with and a little time to breathe on the straights!

Two things to note:
**Auto clutch seems not to work, so you may stall if you spin.. Make sure you have a start button mapped**

And tyres could be a deciding factor!.. Make sure you test before choosing a compound!

P.S. No, we aren't including the McLaren, it's faster than the standard Gen 1 V10's and the additional 'cheat brake' only adds to complications!
