Hi ,i have a question for some "specalists" out there. Is there a easy way to customize the game to your likings by deleting folders/files so that they are visualy and physicaly no longer in the game? I would like to save some HD space and i am not interested in carts or trucks etc.or a system like in Rf2 with subscribe/unsubscribe stuff. Thanx and have a good time watching Le Mans 24 houres this weekend.
Delete rF2. But you can try to delete here: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Pakfiles\TRACKS But but but I would delete any other sim or game you do not play or do not play lots. AMS / AMS 2 is life
Depends on what i need, everybody can do what he wants, not a must for all. I would like to get rid of Streetcars/ modern F1 /Cart tracks and Trucks as i do not drive them in any sim.RETRO stuff and GT'S stay of course!
Good idea. But wouldnt these files and the cars pakfiles just download again next time you start the game and Steam?
Only if you verify cache I bet. After each update it would probably only update the current files or/and copy missing updated track into the folder. To save OP from hassle. I would delete another game, or the infamous -folder.
Adding a second SSD to you computer would make much more sense. I would be careful with just deleting stuff out of the game. Tracks and cars are not just simple add-ons and just deleting them might cause the game to throw a bunch or error messages and then not working at all.
I will try and see if it causes any trouble in the game.I delete the cart /tracks in the main game and let the Beta be my full release.I report here my results after testing it on the weekend.
I thought of that... The car class icons are still there and if you click it, the game hangs up! So how to edit that, anyone knows if it is possible?
I don’t think you gain much free HD space by deleting a few tracks and cars. Better save for an extra HDD.
Hehe I have it the same way. It irritates me when un-needed files(here cars & tracks) fills my HD. It was the same irritation that made me completely delete rF2 (after some massive unstability ) because I had been irritated a long time that Steams workshop was occupied by doublettes of all the rF2 files.
Delete rF2. It's justified cause it has double files. It has files in the workshop-folders, and it also installs/copies them into the locations-folder of rF2. So....
Hahaha. Good one. I guess you are slightly ironic here And thats ok - because we can find a lot of different ideas and sidesteps to get rid of this file redundancy in some way or another.
It really has double files. Check the workshopfolder for rF2 and then the locationsfolder in rF2 install-folder. Same files. Twice. Thus using more space on your SSD than you thought.
