AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

    Just started creating skins and have two questions:
    1 - how do you create a profile pic? I've tried saving a dds from GIMP at 2048*640 px, but it doesn't seem to work.
    2 - Whats the best method for previewing skins as you build them? I'm currently exporting them, then going into a Time Trial and then into 'take picture'. Is there an easier way? How do you ensure it flushes the cached skin each time?

    For the previews I made screenshots in the showroom. Unfortuately, the cameras there change extremely fast since latest update and you need a quick hand.

    Here is a tip from Rob Fitness to create the preview pictures,
    I hope he is okay with me giving this away, He wrote me the following:
    the technique i happened to stumble on for the previews by accident is...... if you run the sim in window mode and load a car into the showroom, then click out of the sim, the sim will still cycle through the cameras in the show room BUT it doesn't do the panning of camera! so it just gets stuck like on the first frame of the camera, so you get about 5 secs to grab your screen shot once it starts on the side camera that way the car is always in the same spot.

    Heya @Rob Thompson - is this something you can share any information on? Something in your plans, on the long-term roadmap, or not a potential feature at all?
    A "currently not looking into it" works as well for planning league competitions, even if would mean to concentrate on other titles for the time being.

    Pour un championnat dans une ligue, certains pilotes veulent garder une livrée de base, mais ils font partie d'une équipe, et j'aimerais changer le nom de l'équipe avec la livrée d'origine inchangée.
    Je n'ai pas trouvé la solution. J'arrive à récupérer le nom de l'équipe en modifiant le fichier xml, mais il manque la vignette de la voiture, et la livrée est blanche en jeu.

    Comme dit dans le premier message :
    Toutes les textures n'ont pas besoin d'être fournies par l'utilisateur. Toute texture manquante utilisera la texture définie dans la livrée de base.

    Donc ça devrait marcher mais je dois faire quelque chose de mal, si quelqu'un a une idée.

    In this case, you must unpack the original liveries and previews using Quick BMS-Tool, bring those to the right folder ingame and have the correct entry in the xml.

    If you just have a xml with only names of the teams, the game unfortunately does not know which liveries to load.

    I’m glad we have team & driver customisation now, but It’ll be an even better day, if/when all the team and driver configurations can be done in-game, and not via .xml files

    Hello. This is perhaps related to Ribeiros question 7 entries above...
    Can anyone share the techniques for rendering metallic paints when creating custom paints/liveries? It seems to be possible in Project Cars 2 but I don't how to in AMS 2.

    Nice tip, thanks Chrisi, i will use this for my Mini Cooper skinpack (already on RaceDepartement) to make an identical preview for all the cars...
    unfortunately it always needs to wait the side camera :(. Tonight i try to make some previews and i spent more than an hour only to make about 30 screens for some GT3s.
    A little option to choose the right camera, even an hotkey to skip the others, would be already an huge help for the modding commnity to make quality skinpack with appropriate previews, that this great sim deserves.
    Hope that @Renato Simioni and his staff make this possible, sooner or later, thank you :)
