    Hey guys.

Been loving AMS2 as it's the first time i feel ffb track undulations in a racing sim and what the tires are doing and im only using a T300 RS. Also i could never get into rfactor 2 as the menu system and graphics was just awfull. This game blows raceroom, assetto corsa out the water with ffb! i change suspension and downforce and can instantly feel the difference and im not a pro driver. Set the world record on donnington with P2 though [IMG].

    Here is the thing.
Raceroom though has amazing competitions you can enter and the chance of winning a car or $5000 is flippen cool and competitive. Vr sucks in that game because of dx9 hence i don't play it anymore as i got my rift s and AMS2 runs so smooth and i recently discovered the sharpness setting in xml file i can tweak and the game looks amazing!

Assetto corsa has alot of mod support, and we know iracing has the brilliant licence system.

Since AMS2 is becomming my nr 1 simulator i want it to have something else apart from the best ffb with vr immersion. Either an brilliant licence multiplayer sim must be included or as weird as it sounds RTX game technology.
i can only imagine how real this game will look with RTX real time lighting, i mean look at minecraft it's a POS but with RTX on it looks insane! Now imagine AMS 2 comes with that it would set it apart from other racing games other than the fact it has unique tracks and cars.

    Let me know your thoughts.

My thoughts are that AMS 2 already offers things which set it apart, and adding more pixel crack which caters for the minority on their high-end kit is not a path Reiza should focus on. You said yourself that the sim has unique cars and tracks... the two things which are by far the most important in a sim after the physics. That's the route they should continue to follow.

Nonsense. It works fine for me, so that's just your personal opinion.

Yea their focus is on the right path.

in regards to raceroom im on Intel 4790k @ 4.6ghz on all cores with nvidia 1080 and 16gb ram and the game chugs along.
Dx 9 don't take into affect multi core so the game is heavily cpu bound.
i can run AMS2 smooth with everything on and raceroom set to everything off and i mean everything low and no AA or shadows on. Cant get it to run silky smooth at all. i tried as it's my fav racing game. With VR off i run it on the highest settings on my pc :).

How do you get it to run smooth? i even tried forcing ASW on 45fps and still wont run smooth.

I can only imagine the severe drop in framerates with RTX, let's not do that.
What's wrong with the current lighting system anyway?

Maybe you could post your FFB settings for your T300, I am really stuggling to make it feel half decent since the last few updates and have stopped playing it. On my T300 its feels really bad nowhere near the level of ACC.

I think for me AMS2 does a great job setting itself apart using its track catalogue. It is full of these incredible tracks I would have never heard of otherwise. I love racing on Spa and Nordschleife as much as the next guy but I dont miss them here

to be completely honest I kinda miss Spa and Nords .. but yes, the track and car list is one of the reasons this game is special.

Nothing wrong and it, RTX uses the RT cores and combined with DLSS RTX games runs way smoother now. Just imagine how real AMS 2 will look.

Have a look at how a simple lighting system changes with RTX on in minecraft that looks ugly as hell without it. i feel if a RTX lighting system was implimented or reflextions if you go under showroom wouldn't take up much coding time since it calculates that all itself and it uses the RT cores to do so so they don't have to worry too much about memory and cpu issues?

Sure, New and Improved: LexxVR's Custom FFB for AMS2
Go download lexx custom FFB settings.
    Thrustmaster T300 GT.
    Thrusmaster software 100%

    Ingame
    Gain 89%
    Low fx 30%
    fx 20%
    let me know!

Yea same man! Hopefully they make it into the game but i heard nordschleife might. So hope it does!

I've watched my kids play Minecraft RTX beta on my rig on one screen at 2560x1440 and hit a maximum 80FPS so no, imo that's not good enough and nowhere near ready for sim racing titles.

If someone has gpupowers to spare and is willing to mess around with raytracing they can try it today with ReShade RTX shaders.
Although this could actually, if it's work, be better suited for Automobilista 1.

Not bad for that resolution and that it's in beta :D.
What is your thought on a licencing rating in ams2?

I can do without RTX if it impacts performance to a point of impeding gameplay. Eye candy is great, but Frame stutter is an immersion killer....especially in the Apex of a high speed curve ;)

The platform is, in itself, unique....in that the engine itself is almost 10 years old. But, coming from NFS Shift and Shift 2 to this, I see nothing but great things for this platform. What I would focus on is:

    1. Cars & Tracks - The meat & Potatoes....never enough of either
    2. Physics, FFB, and smoothness at high speeds. The better the car physics feel, the more fun it is to play!
    3. Multiplayer content and replay-ability You gotta keep it interesting. Tournaments, Special rewards for specific Tournament or Challenge wins, etc Elimination mode, etc..
    4. How about a Track Designer/Editor??

I don’t mind if AMS2 can’t be modded. All I want is for fully custom grids/championships Where we can rename all drivers and have fully custom skins for all cars in the custom series.

OP wrote RRRE and RF2 doesn't look good in VR.
For me that is a bit Oculus -> SteamVR related.
I had always the same feel of that bad looking games. Since i own SteamVR dependend headset, both look much better.
Oculus is great, but on some SteamVR/OpenVR games it sucks.

Until I started using my own custom skins with TP in iRacing, I never knew how important it was for me to have a unique car livery

With lexx ffb im pretty happy right now on my T300 as its the best ffb if ever felt. i don't play rfactor 2 "don't hate me" haha. tournaments would be cool or some incentive.

Would be great yea. Adds to the realism.

Yea sorry i should have been more clear, raceroom game looks great in vr but for me it stutters and is unplayable and i have by no means a slow computer. When it chugs along at low fps i can't get the sense of speed of the car and it's just a mess. Prob my fav game if i play on my ultrawide monitor.

ACC was supposed to get RTX but hasn't so far - hard to imagine how bad the frame-rate would be with RTX enabled. I really don't think it would be a selling point for AMS2 which is aiming to run on lower spec hardware anyway. The other factor is the Madness Engine is not Reiza's engine. While they do have the source code this doesn't mean they have the expertise to add RTX.

What could set it apart? Well the content is already unique if not necessarily popular. But I think the DLC will really set AMS2 apart. From hints we've had the DLC plans are very exciting.

And although RaceDepartment poles are typically very skewed, I did find it interesting that the top 3 "favourite"type of sim car are

    1. modern GT (Ok no surprise there)
    2. historic touring car
    3. vintage GT

I am hoping Reiza might do something with #2 and #3. (I know they already have Brazilian historic touring cars but these are tame even compared to say a Mini Cooper or Lotus Cortina, let alone an Escort RS1600 or BMW CSL 3.0)

Just like to point out i doubt automobilista 2 is aiming to run on lower spec pc's as their current recommended pc is the highest i have ever seen in a game core i7 8700k with nvidia 1080ti and their low end is still a core i5 with nvidia 680.

Shot for that info on acc with RTX i just looked up the post. i did not know.

i do love raceroom's older DTM cars and newer DTM cars. That would be awsome to drive a bmw E30 around AMS2 or the newer ones. Interesting 2 years ahead for AMS2 with this DLC pack they selling.

What does AMS 2 set apart to others?

    - FFB
    - Unique Tracks & Cars
    - AI (but AMS 1 is at the moment better)
    - Performance. You can drive full grid of cars without any performance issues.

Only what they need to tackle are:

    - Menu
    - QoL
    - AI strength across all the tracks and cars.
    - Performance at night and overcast

    What give a mixed feeling:

    - MP. It will never be as good as iRacing, but I am sure it will be as good as AC lobbies. (Specially if Nord comes and Racedepartment finishes their MP racing tool.)

My dream would be a LeMans track and some LMGTE cars to be able to do an actual Lemans multiclass race :)
