    The F1 esports v2 and Clubsport Bmw M3 GT2 V2

On both of these wheels, the gear display + rpm's are not working in the Sim. The rpm led setting is on and under system settings the protocols are set to Project Cars 2 with udp set to 3.

Am i missing some setting somewhere ?

    Thank's

    Hello,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. First, try setting upd to off; it often causes in-game stuttering. For pCars 2, you can leave Shared Memory enabled.

I’d recommend doing a clean reinstall of your Fanatec driver. Sometimes, a Windows update or other system changes can mess things up.

Lastly, could you let me know which driver version and/or other programs you’re running? That’ll help narrow things down.

Fanatec driver 474 and not using Fanalab either. Only Fanatec control panel!

Thank you. Can you also check if "RPM/Gear display" in game menu / controller options somehow got un-checked, if so please turn it on.

It's on Marius, triple checked :)

The lights self test in Fanatec control panel work, so everything is ok on that end.
In the Sim, i use the Fanatec profile for csl dd since i have the Clubsport DD. Is that the problem ?

Other apps: SimHub (but do not use it for any of the Fanatec gear).

    Hi,

That might be it. Try to set it like in the picture: ''Custom wheel'' and ''separate''. See if it solves your issue.

    Hi Marius,

I set it to custom and seperate, the gear display and rpm lights are still not working. Neither for the F1 v2 wheel nor the Bmw v2.

    Hi,

If that doesn’t work, I would advise reinstalling the 474 driver, or even upgrading to the newest driver. Also checking if the shaft is seated properly. Does it work in other games?

    1. Back up your AMS2 folder in My Documents.
    2. Delete the original folder.
    3. Launch AMS2
    4. Test your wheel and see if it lights up (Don't forget to check the RPM/Led-option)

Only I could think of right now. Also perhaps do a verify cache of the game.

    Hi Marius,

Due to a broken shoulder, i will be out of contention until mid february :/.
I was able to at least fix ACC (there is a dedicated setting for Fanatec lights which i had not noticed). So its working in acc, ac evo & ac rally).

When the healing is done, i'l delete the Automobilista 2 folder in documents and take it from there.

It sure is frustrating when you just got new gear & hardware sitting next to you and you can't do anything (new Psu, Gpu & monitor also).

I am in Love with the Clubsport BMW M3 GT2 V2 steering wheel!

    Hi Marius

I'm back in action, due to Pc upgrades, i did a complete and clean re-install of everything including Windows. Same exact issue still persists.

    Can you try this:

Check if System settings are to PC2, OFF and PC2:
    Screenshot 2026-04-07 084929.jpg

Make sure the RPM/Gear Display in the settings is actually set to off. Fanatec is handling this by itself, it won't work if you set this to on.
    Screenshot 2026-04-07 085053.jpg

In the Fanatec App go on this button to check if every hardware is up to date. If not install all updates available
    Screenshot 2026-04-07 085228.jpg

Check if the Fanatec App is correctly seeing AMS2 as the active game

In the App check if for the Wheel under LED & Display if it's actually set to active.

    Hi Ace

Thank's for the assistance, but it still does not work, i have everything setup the way you shown until the driver. I am still on Fanatec 474, kind of reluctant to install the new version for the time being (precautionary reason, nothing else).

rpm and leds work in all the other Sims i use.

Which would be the correct method to install the new Fanatec driver ? uninstall current, reboot..install new, reboot, while having the base connected to the PC, without any wheel attached ?

    Thank you Fanatec ! :)

I will wait until next week to see what happens with the 3nm free upgrade for the CS DD. Install the new app with firmware.

For the time being, the display and rpm leds are still non functional in Ams2 (working in all other sims i use). I tried to to cycle the setting within Ams2 (show rpm leds) by switching off, quiting Ams2, re-launching, same for the 'on' , but neither worked. (on legacy Fanatec driver v474 without Fanalab).

    Hello,

I just successfully updated to the latest Fanatec driver & firmware. Same issue still persists. It is fully working in all other sims though (rpm, leds, display). None of them are working in Ams2, i tried to toggle rpm leds on off but same outcome for both selections. Is this an Ams2 iissue or Fanatec ? I am very puzzled as to why it is not working only in Ams2. :/

    Hello,

Apologies that your issue is lingering for so long. I could imagine it frustrates you. Lets brainstorm and try to find the solution:

Have you re-tried the instructions Ace summed up? I can only think of something interfering, like FanaLeds (made by another company).

Make sure your wheelbase is in PC mode, not in Xbox, PlayStation, or V2.5 mode.

Alternatively, visit the Fanatec forum and search for topics with similar issues. It might be a hardware issue, but since your wheel works in other games, that seems unlikely. Still, it’s a good idea to rule it out.

Are you using any aftermarket parts?

Also try to use another profile than the CSL DD.

    Marius
