Automobilista 2 June 2023 Development Update
Greetings Everyone!
It´s that time of the year again: as a new milestone update rises on the horizon, excitement is in the air, caffeine is being abused and crunch time is in overdrive as AMS2 is expected to hit v1.5 within the next few weeks.
Previous AMS2 milestone updates all represented big leaps in quality, features and content for the sim - among other highlights, AMS2 V1.2 introduced Real Weather, seasonal foliage, customizable championships & Racin´ USA Pt1, the first AMS2 DLC as covered in the May 2021 Dev Update; AMS2 V1.3 introduced the VW / Acelerados Demo, a critical driveline physics development to LSD differentials, a major FFB upgrade along with the initial step in AI modding support as covered in the November 2021 Dev... -
Automobilista 2 April 2023 Development Update
Greetings Everyone! Here we are for the second Dev Update of 2023, and we have tons of exciting stuff to talk about on this one.
Just this past week, we have deployed V1.4.7 featuring the fantastic Nürburgring Historic 1971, the conclusion of a mammoth project on which our track team worked so hard for so long. It has taken much longer than even our latest forecast suggested, as has been often the case specially with these historical projects which seems that always provide room for going a little bit further.
Partially because of the ever-expanding demands involved in the historical track projects, the neat bimonthly release schedule we had mapped our for 2023 isn´t really panning out so far, and the updates also haven´t included everything we had planned for them - reality once again demonstrates it can and often will mess up the most carefully crafted plans.
The silver lining here is that work going beyond schedule is not work gone to waste, so... -

Automobilista 2 August 2022 Development Update
Greetings everyone!
As you all probably have noticed, late July has come and gone and with it the not-so-great news of v1.4 and Racin´ USA Pt3 being postponed to the end of this month - there has been some very good reasons for this decision however, and in this Dev Update we´re going to cover that and also expand on some of the key features we have coming up.
Since our last catch-up in late June, we have merged features and content into the game that had been in gestation for months - the extent of these developments are actually beyond our original plans, which will make v1.4 an even bigger milestone than we had originally antecipated.
Some of these new features did still need further troubleshooting in order to be release-ready however, so taking it all into account we decided to keep working on it for a few more weeks and effectively merge July and August into a single cycle for an update later this month, with no public releases in between.
Normally we would have been... -

Automobilista 2 March 2023 Development Update
Greetings everyone, we hope you all have been enjoying a great start to 2023!
We have an extremely promising year ahead of us for Automobilista 2 - it hasn´t been the smoothest start however as evidenced by the new update being a bit behind schedule. Some of the developments we had planned in this cycle are proving a bit more troublesome than expected, so in order to avoid a longer delay for valuable developments and bug fixes we already had in the bag we´ve decided to break the update into parts - the first is just around the corner and should be available at least as a release candidate for this weekend, and it will then be complemented with further updates over the course of March.
Let´s get into it then and have a look into what we have been working on lately for the next update and beyond.
Improvements & Bug Fixes
The last update slipped out with a few bugs which have taken us a while to figure out, but that have... -
Automobilista 2 V1.3.0.0 RELEASED - Now updated to V1.3.0.1
Automobilista 2 V1.3.0.0 is now live! The first of several updates on this dev cycle is heavily focused on physics and FFB - extensive revisions to driveline and tires of all cars and addition of a new FFB profile as elaborated in our November Development Update Pt2 makes this our biggest physics overhaul yet..
The extent of the physics updates have required default setups & AI performance to be adjusted accordingly, a process that remains ongoing for the next few days so you may expect some small hotfixes to be deployed before the release of Racin´ USA Pt2 next week.
AMS2 V1.3 introduces new FFB profile (Default+) in parallel to the old "Default" profile which remains available for users who may prefer it. Information on these FFB updates along with an updated tutorial to best set it up will be posted on a dedicated thread soon.
The update also introduces the beta version of our Multiplayer Rating System - information on the mechanisms of the system... -

It´s time for fireworks! A new year is soon (already?) upon us, and we at Reiza have been working flatout through this Holiday season to celebrate it with a bang - the most famous race track in the world, some amazing historical sports cars, new features and many improvements mark v1.1.0.0 as the biggest Automobilista 2 update yet!
IMPORTANT: Given the amount of substantive changes in this update, we strongly recommend all users to start a fresh profile by deleting their Documents/Automobilista 2 folder to avoid issues (this will be requested with far less regularity from this update onwards).
The Livery System Override is now fully implemented - to get your hands on the templates for all cars currently in the game and learn more about how you can go about replacing the original car liveries with your own please check this topic (will be updated with new... -
Automobilista 2 December 2022 Development Update
Greetings everyone!
The checkered flag is about to wave for 2022, but we are not quite done with it yet! By the time you read this final dev update of the year, the Christmas gifts will most likely already have been unwrapped, but as I finish writing this Dev Update in the late hours of Christmas day, we are still putting the finishing touches to wrap up our last update of the year - the Reiza Santa may be late to arrive, but he´s got a bag full of exciting toys!
2022 was another positive year for AMS2 - the game continues to grow, and some substantial progress has been made in every front over the course of the year. It´s only fitting then to end the year with a bang: no less than 3 new DLC packs, 3 historical tracks, a whopping 12 new cars in total - evenly split between open wheelers and tin tops, with 9 cars coming in two new DLC packages featuring some of the greatest motorcars ever created, plus 3 long-awaited cars being added free of charge to... -

Automobilista 2 V1.1.3.5 RELEASED!
This release comes exactly one year since our initial Early Access release on March 31 2020, and we have been pushing hard as we have through this whole year to celebrate the occasion with another major update!
Unfortunately some of the new features and core developments we had hopes to wrap in time for this update didn´t quite make it in time, but the work obviously isn´t lost - while this update isn´t quite the beefed up step we had hoped to deliver, our users can still look forward to these valuable developments making into the game in the coming weeks and months.
Our March update still packs a good punch with another sizeable list of improvements & fixes, additional layouts for the Historic Jacarepagua circuit, and a new historical class - the Formula Retro Generation 2, featuring the iconic Lotus 79!
The most significant physics development in this update is the substantial reduction of driveline friction levels, resulting improved... -
Automobilista 2 November 2023 Development Update
Greetings Everyone!
It´s been almost 5 months since our last Dev Update in June and almost 3 months since our last public release - not exactly a lifetime in game development, but a first for AMS2. Never since its original Early Access release has there been such a big gap with neither new game updates nor detailed news about them.
This isn´t a sign of AMS2 development slowing down – on the contrary, behind the scenes this has been one of the most intense and productive development cycles we have had, the results from this especially long cycle soon to be shared with you all.
Those of you used to following these dev updates will have read a lot about the challenges to develop and manage a game of this size – many cars, many tracks, many simulation variables, all of which under constant development with new features and new variables being brought in all the time keeping goalposts ever moving and making it harder to make it all work cohesively. The...
