AUTOMOBILISTA 2 Released in Early Access! Now updated to v0.8.0.1
Automobilista 2 is finally here! We are very excited to be able to share what we have been working on all this time.
Please note that as an Early Access release the game is not yet complete - Time Trial & Championship mode are currently disabled but should become available over the first few weeks of Early Access.
Below are some further known common issues and limitations of:this initial release:
- UI & HUD are still deep in development, and currently feature the essentials for all game modes to work - this will be expanded with new options & features over the course of EA, with same pages being completely redesigned.
- Early Access is exclusively in English for the time being; Localization to other languages should only be added in time for the full Release.
- Driver names, suits and helmets are generic for all series as the whole system is being reestructured (also part of requirements for a revamped Opponents settings and the Custom...

Automobilista 2 V0.9.3.1 RELEASED - Now updated to v0.9.3.2
This week´s update features further housekeeping, with focus again on the FFB / physics / AI combo as these fronts begin to come full circle for v1.0 release.
Relative to last week, the FFB changes have been a slight refactoring of the way steering arm forces pass on to FFB (should provide a slightly "tighter" wheel around the center), slightly reduced the FFB filters added in previous update & added soft lock for wheels that still didn´t have it.
Further FFB changes from now will be restricted to bug fixes, track/car-specific fine tuning & those resulting from physics adjustments - these can still add up to substantial differences, and we also plan to add a couple of car-specific adjustments so users have some room to customize them to their preferences - but as far as the core system goes however we consider FFB wrapped for v1.0
IMPORTANT: "OLD DEFAULT" FFB profile has been discontinued in v0.9.3.1 - there´s only one default FFB profile (the... -
Automobilista - Final 2017 Development Update
Greetings everyone
Here we are then for the final dev update of the year, just in time for what is to be the final major update to Automobilista.
We´ll begin with the not so-great news - those of you who have been following these dev updates will be aware we still have one final car pack DLC to announce. Our plan had been to deliver a holiday surprise but unfortunately we haven´t quite managed to put everything together in time, so this is going to be our early 2018 treat instead. In the meantime we´ll have to keep the suspense on for a little longer...
While we´ve missed out on delivering that particular Christmas present, we do have a lot of exciting stuff packed in and almost ready to go in what is to be the last major AMS update - one which we hope will keep you warm over the holiday season Here are some of the highlights of what´s coming up with V1.5 and beyond:

Reiza June 2019 Development Update
Greetings all!
Happy to finally resume with our monthly dev updates we seem to have started a bit of a sim racing trend with these updates back in the early days of AMS1 development, but for the last year or so have gone a bit quieter and working behind the curtains while the baseline for AMS2 was finally getting assembled.
The curtains are obviously lifted now and you can be sure we´ll have lots to share again from now on - I look foward to bringing you the fresh news over the remaining months before AMS2 release and beyond.
Reiza rF2 Bundle Update
First things first: as previously announced this week we released an update for our Reiza Bundle in rFactor2, and Imola now features two new versions, adding to the previously released Imola 1972 and 2018:
Imola 1988, featuring the famous flat-out blast from Variante Bassa, through Tamburello and Villeneuve all the way to Tosa, then the tight Acque Mineralli Chicane... -
Automobilista - June Development Update
I´ll be trying to make this a monthly feature from now on Here´s a round-up of our recent progress in various fronts.
v0.9.4 Release
Last friday we released our latest v0.9.4 update. While this update hasn´t added any new content or features to the sim, there has been some valuable progress in particular to graphics & Artificial Intelligence.
@Alex Sawczuk has been spending some quality time developing the shaders & RGB settings in order to improve lighting & color accuracy across the 24h cycle. The changes are subtle individually but all add up to a noticeable overall improvement - the environment is more lively and the slightly desaturated & bluish haze from previous versions is now gone. The changes are mostly already present in v0.9.41, and along with @ilka ´s beautiful new sky/cloud sets, make for some pretty nice sights:

Automobilista - End of Year Development Update
This is it then - our final dev update of 2016! We promised it was going to be a good one, so hopefully it lives up to that promise
It has been a long, hard but very fulfilling year for everyone at Reiza - we´ve brought out Automobilista in march and have been working very hard since to keep it growing and evolving throughout. We´re happy to say we´ve reached our main goals, though work is still to continue hard into the initial months of 2017 to fulfill its potential as we envisage it, before we finally wrap it up to shift focus to the longer term.
The next milestone for AMS is still to come before the year ends, as v1.20 and Formula Truck are still to be released at some point next week!
Here´s the summary then of the stuff we´ve been working on.
V1.20 highlights & Formula Truck DLC

Reiza December 2019 Development Update
So here we are for the final Dev Update of the year!
Many of you will already be in 2020 by the time you see this - we however are still at it in what are the very last hours of 2019 in order to meet our final AMS2 milestones of the year!
It hasn´t been much of a Holiday Break so far - fittingly I get to switch off the figurative lights before I myself get some downtime to celebrate the beginning of what promises to be a great year. Then it will finally be time for some proper rest time before resuming on January 2nd
We aren´t complaining though - or at least no-one has yet to me It is indeed an exciting time as AMS2 is finally coming together it just keeps drawing us back. I have been away from my sim rig for only a few days and I already can´t wait to get back on it
On to the mission at hand then, which is to share what we have been up to all the way to these final hours of 2019!

Automobilista - May 2017 Development Update
Hello everyone! We´re back for another Automobilista Development Update - not many of these to go now!
As you may have noticed, we missed out on publishing a dev update last month - apologies for that, hopefully the v1.4 changelog will be convincing enough evidence we weren´t just slacking off
It´s actually getting a bit tricky to share many details about what we´re doing in these final stages of AMS development as we´re getting more into exploring new grounds and doing some experimenting without knowing for sure what will pan out and how soon - that naturally makes it harder to provide much of a foresight without feeding expectations that may not be realistic on the short term.
With that in mind this month´s update is mostly retrospective on the work done for v1.4, while still providing some glimpses as to what comes next!

Following popular demand, v1.4 has seen a lot of development time dedicated towards improving the AI - we... -

- Enhanced pneumatic trail by adding new PneumaticTrailGripFractPower (PTGFP) function, for much improved self-aligning torque (should make tire forces more perceivable through FFB)
- Tweaked FFB output code & added "FFB Low Force Boost" to Controller UI (this should help wheel "lightness" under low steering forces with lower end FFB controllers)
- Added new low speed FFB fuction to eliminate vibration / oscillation at very slow speeds
- Revised default Realfeel settings and pneumatic trail values to match to new FFB functions
- Added AIWs to Time Trial anticheat verification (this will lead to failed authentication in case of AIW edits)

Automobilista - September 2017 Development Update
Hello everyone! We´ve got another update for you, this time sharing some news about the upcoming V1.4.8 release, and some of what´s coming up next as we approach v1.5.0 and the definitive version of Automobilista.
A combination of things taking a bit longer than expected, some unforeseen issues demanding attention along with valuable improvements that we´ve found to be within reach have led to AMS development stretching a bit further still. All for the better though as it means AMS should end up in even better shape!
The next update is v1.4.8 and is going to bring some valuable improvements along with a new DLC:
New DLC - Brazilian Touring Car Classics
The next DLC will bring several "oldies" to AMS - the TC Classics are some of the cars that have made history in brazilian tourinc cars through the decades.
The DLC will include 4 models (Fusca, Gol, Passat, Uno), spread over 4 unique series:

Introducing Race Rank
Race Rank
How it Works - Overview
Race Rank works by submitting results from Qualifying and Race sessions on official Reiza Servers. In Qualifying points are awarded for the top 20 qualifiers who set a time with in 107% of pole position. Race points are awarded for upto the top 20 finishers, as well as leading a lap, fastest lap and places gained. The maximum points possible is achieved by coming first, pole and fastest lap. There is no other combination that scores higher. A qualifying session counts for 1/6th of a race.
This base score is then scaled depending on the quality of the opponents on the server, the race length and the number of opponents, this then gives you a base score from this event. This means it’s hugely beneficial for you to take part on servers of around 20 drivers.
Event scores are scaled by how long ago they occurred and all your past scores are averaged based on the maximum score possible for that event. This...
