Hi, I noticed that Formula cars, especially Vintage and Classic have different gens and models, I was wondering if they represent real cars chassis. E.g. Formula V10 looks like a Ferrari F2002 and Formula Reiza looks like the 2012 Red Bull RB8 What about Formula Vintage, Classic and V12?
Gen 1 would be cars from 1986 Ex benetton or lotus. Gen 2 would be 1988 Mclaren Williams V10 is 2001 williams V12 is 1995 Ferrari Gen 3 would be 1993 Williams mclaren benetton And the vintage ones are from 1967 and 1969
No, Gen 1 must be 1988, last turbo year. Gen 2 is without turbo, so must be 1989 or 1990. Gen 3 is 1991, Ferrari, Benetton and Williams. McLaren will come later, I think.
Thanks everybody. On RD someone pointed out that the F-Reiza might actually be the 2010 Red Bull RB6, it looks like that car, it's just that it should have the Bridgestone tyres then, since Pirelli wasn't supplying F1 in 2010
No the developers confirmed the cars are 86 88 91 based. The 88 cars have turbos. Not all as in reality
So you are saying they are not simulating real cars? Just an approximation of what a F1 of an era or an other could be? I find it surprising and very disappointing if true. I understand the graphic is a mismatch for legal license reason but I thought the physic was from particular real cars.
And it is. It is the physics from cars built to the spec of that era would behave. Much like RSS formula cars. And like RSS, these are some of the best formula cars in sim racing.
Good to know, so what are those real cars in relation to their code name in the game? Classic Gen 1 version 2 does not tell me anything. Something like this would be helpful. 1967 Lotus 49 = 'Formula Vintage V8' 1969 Brabham BT26 = 'Formula Vintage V8' 1975 Brabham BT44 = 'Formula Retro' 1976 Copersucar Fittipaldi FD04 = 'Formula Retro' 1988 Benetton B188 Ford = 'Formula Classic' 1995 Ferrari 412 T2 = 'Formula V12' 2002 Williams FW24 = 'Formula V10' 2008 Mygale SJ08 = 'Formula Trainer Novice/Advanced' 2012 Red Bull RB8 Renault = 'Formula Reiza'
Its like i postet above. I took this from the dev post in the beta forums. They are based on the year that i told you.
Hmmm, tbh I'm starting to think that the V10 might actually be the 2002 Williams FW24 instead of the 2001. The chassis basically looks the same, but the steering wheel in the F-V10 is matching the one in the FW24 and if they carried over the performance from AMS1 then it would be more closer to the 2002 car than the 2001. I need to see how far I can go with this car. In AMS1 with this car at Montreal I was around 1:13/14, with faster people around 1:11/12, closer to the 2002 times than the 2001 which were around 1:15/16. In AMS2 atm I'm at 1:16 after 2 laps, but I know myself and for sure there are people that are doing 1:12
I think all the f-classic cars are meant as competition for the McLaren cars they are working on. Senna is forever a legend, specially in Brazil
Yes, of course, this is supposed to be a simulation of the competition these years, so they must all be different.
