After the recent temporary removal of AMS from Steam, and the removal of some F1 mods from Racedepartment, I was wondering, is there a time limit that applies to these things?

For example, I can understand certain organisations being precious about current car liveries, but what about 1970s or 1980s, or early 90s cars & skins?

I am not trying to open a debate here, I'm just wondering as I was thinking about updating and uploading 70s/80s/90s skin/performance packs in the future, or maybe it's no longer an option.

i think AMS probably are just playing it safe, and redesign anything similar to real life.

We have changed liveries that were on a 20 years range. The 70's and 80's may have a certain tolerance, but if you're doing anything about the 90's and beyond, you should probably play safe.

Thanks Thiago, that makes sense. I remember this happening a few years ago, I think it was on NoGripRacing, & it seemed to be the 20 or less yr old stuff then too.

You'd need to start with finding out what actually is protected (and if at all).
Company logos are usually trademarked and if you're too close to the
protected design then you're basically looking for trouble.

Liveries on race cars ... to be honest i have never heard of them being protected
at all before all this happened.
Also wasn't able to find anything related on google?
(Maybe my googling skills lack in this area)
