official TrackIR support?

Hello,
are there chances to get a official TrackIR support from the game without some weird work arounds?
i got VR and TrackIR 5 but sometimes im to lazy to use VR.
as i see in the Forum there is a thread with a workaround using steam VR as launch option but with this my Valve Index starts and not the Track IR system.

 

Agree as TrackIR is playing up for me after the last updates? Not sure what is causing the problem but official support would help I’m sure.

 

I have no idea how come you can even compare IR to VR....
My TrackIR was never used since I have VR.

I have both.
Trackir5 and a valve index.
At hot weather i prefer trackir , sometimes i like to use vr ( more to drive a race, track ir when testing stuff).

I'd like proper TrackIR support too. I actually use TIR emulation through Opentrack and have head tracking working no problems. Only the SteamVR method gives me too wide a FOV with a small steering wheel. Makes it hard to judge distance and speed when trying to drive through a fairly wide angle lens.

I tried changing the helmet camera FOV in game but it doesn't seem to have an effect in SteamVR mode.

 

Any update on this, it's been almost a year and it's still not working in non VR mode?
