Cannot Get Game To Pass Telemetry

Finally bought the game and I'm puling my hair out, i can't get the game to export any telemetry data for anything, motion, gauges etc. dont know what else to try been at it for hours

edit: tried reinstalling, tried verifying files, tried project cars 1 mode as well as 2, tried UDP mode with all ports, deleting the automobillista2 documents folder, nothing works

im using, SIMHUB, SIM COMANNDER 4, SimDash, and SimRacingStudio - NONE of them detect any telemetry, so it's not one program, the game DEFINITELY isn't sending telemetry. Is there some sort of hotfix for this that I missed?

I use SimHub no problem with dash and Buttkicker. I'm AFK ATM but if you open SimHub and check the game setup little notification at the top right it shows which setting ingame to use. I think it's pC1 on the first line off on the second and pC2 on bottom but that notification will confirm that.

 

Actually it says to use project cars 2 and no UDP, but I've tried all settings in all configurations and no telemetry is passed from the game to any app, as i said. It's some bug in the game itself that isn't passing telemetry at all, all other games work fine. As you can see I've tried everything, I'm looking for someone who worked on the game to help. If you look at the steam forums and this forum, there are one or two other people with the same issue who never got an answer.

This is the reason I had to refund automobillista 1, I begged on the forums for help getting my wheel recognized for a month and no one from Reiza ever responded. So it looks like I'm heading in that direction again.

 

Something on your end because myself and others have SimHub working perfectly with telemetry and shake/motion just fine.

 

Yes, I'm aware it's something on my end, that's why I'm asking the people who made the game what else I can try. Man, really, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here but you have done nothing but tell me "it works for me," basically.

That sounds like I was trying to help but you have a bad attitude from the get go so I don't know why I bothered.

if you had read the initial post you'd have seen that what you posted was already covered and tried, but like i said, you seem like you didn't come here to help, just to be cranky

 

I'm not at all cranky, I love AMS2 and want others to enjoy it also. What I did state is what works for me and that you may just need to confirm you have it set right.
Your the one "cranky" because you haven't been able to get either AMS titles to work and come here to vent.
In the end it's your loss, I tried to help and will not again. Your on my blocked list now so post back or don't, I won't see it.

Despite all the noise with the cranky guy I wanted to post the answer here so that others who experience can use this to help. Working with a guy on the steam forums we figured this out:

If you start the game and go into a race, then you alt-tab out and start motion software first, then any LCD or dash software, then any shaker software, you should be able to get it working. Then you can back out out of the race in-game and set up whatever type of race you want and tweak the motion settings in your motion app as well. Hope this helps anyone who experiences this.

 

Hi dmal99; I have been and still I am experiencing the very same problem with AMS2.Even though this is obviously a very rare and exceptional bug... for me -like for you - this is still an annoying experience.

• UDP Telemetry works perfectly fine with my Project Cars 2 and Iko Rein's donationware (Telemetry Tool - main) - as well as Z1 dashboard/analyzer.
• AMS 2 with the same (PC2) settings in the options menu doesn't connect to either of those.
• I even purchased a license for RacingSimTools - but to no avail: "waiting for connection" was all the output I received... money wasted.
• I also tried re-installation,
• checking firewall settings
• etc. etc.
• Even your nice tip to start the game first didn't help.

It's a pity, as both games run on the Steam platform under identical conditions, so the root cause is likely not my computer setup.
Bottom line experience so far: "A Mediocre Simulation 2". Excellent graphics, cool and immersive in VR, but with the massive tradeoff of missing finetuned setups.

 

This is probably coming way too late and you probably already have a fix.. I'm dealing with a similar issue where PC2 will play and work great with my motion sim, but Automobilista 2 won't send out the telemetry.. I tried everything possible to make it work.. Don't want to format my computer, but that's where I was headed.. I believe the real problem lies with my SRS sim software as it all started after their last update.. I can't go to an older version of their software, so I found a work around..
If you're still having trouble, try launching PC2 and minimize it.. Then launch Automobilista 2 and play it.. See if that fixes your problem.. Once I did this, the telemetry started passing through to my sim software as if it were coming from PC2 rather than AMS2..
Hopefully it helps someone else..

 

I just checked this thread just to find a new user being treated pretty arrogant.
But my comment to you is that your thinking in the way you try to solve this problem without getting any help from Reiza (or the community) is pretty astonishing.
Personally I would probably never have thought of starting another game up to try to get some buggy function in AMS2 to work.
Eventhough I know that a lot of things in AMS2 originally was developed for pCars2.
So just a positive greeting to your approach

you wrote the root cause is NOT your setup, because PC2 is working.
That is definitely WRONG.
As you write you use UDP, and this is a network protokol, its possible that something in your firewall settings is refusing the broadcasting of UDP packets. If so, then its on your side.
Also a Antivirus could be the cause of not permitting sending telemetry packets.
So please don't talk BS about AMS2. You are on a Windows PC with many possible ways to do something wrong.

That definitely tells, you don't know what you are doing

 

Because this is on your end. And we dont know how you are setup.. There we cant help you...
