I think this is more or less a problem with my driving than a problem with the game. But I can't complete a 20 minute race on any track because I always appear to be blowing my engine in the GT3 cars or GT4 cars. I think it has to do with my down shifting. When I brake, I don't blip on the way down due in part to how stable the car is. Not to mention I can do it in the stock cars and F1 cars no problem. I am wondering if that is the problem. The other shifting I think is that I might be over revving. During race I always shift on blue or if I am in a drag race on a straight I will have a habit of staying in gear to maintain acceleration and shifting at the very last moment before red line. Or I am holding too low of a gear in the corners and end up accelerating out into red line. However, I feel like I can get away with it more on other cars. Any suggestions? Are there any resources to find out about shift quirks? For example, you don't need to clutch in on the Group C cars, just lift off to shift up and blip to shift down.
No running stock, that makes sense because the McLaren is at 50% radiator covered. EDIT: Ps thank you for the setup tutorials.
. Keep an eye on your oil and water temps on the dash if/when they are provided. Ive seen engine temps rise on defaults but never had one go on me, but what you described, this is what it sounds like to me. ps im happy to know they may have helped you.
I have a very heavy right foot. So throttle management has always been an issue. You probably never blew because the engine was never stressed enough. But will do! EDIT: Just checked. Yeah my McLaren MP4 was with 10% radiator opening. So yeah, I was suffocating the poor car. Opened it up to about 60, was smooth sailing. Must have used a setup somewhere along the line.
