I think I have found the reason some of the AMS2 cars does bounce extremely much. If Im right then its not a camera setting but some of Reizas slow/fast damp/rbound settings the Madness engine cannot cope with. I found it because I was experimenting with damp/rbound settings in the F-Ultimate on Spa historic and suddenly the car began hopping like a cangaroo - when some of the dampers was about maximised. But with another not so maximised setup the car was just bouncing as we often have seen. But because of the idiotic setup file system in AMS2 Im not able to upload one(1) single setup for this car - but instead I have zipped all my setups for this car(about 15) with the 2 mentioned setups on Spa historic. As mentioned I have not much respect for the Mad setup file "managesment" system but if somebody wants to see this then they can temporarily move all their setups out of \Documents\Automobilista 2\savegame\<>\automobilista 2\tuningsetups And then copy my setups in instead. And then as example launch the maximised one and even before going on track look at the cangaroo while still into the setup menu ByTheWay: Unzip first
wow, if that reduces the bouncy behaviour then you’re my hero. When I do have time to race again, I’ll be testing these files first thing. thanks for sharing. Thumbs up.
K not C for Kangaroo I should know, I used to have to ride mine to school when I was younger Actual photo ↓↓.
Thanks - but hehe no hero here. But I think I have at least found something. This could also explain that some cars are worse conserning this exaggerated bouncing. Because my own guess is that as example the mentioned F-Ultimate have damper parameters that is more outside what the Madness engine can cope with than some of the more untargeted cars. Remember to just MOVE your setups out of the mentioned folder - so you can move them back after testing - AND AFTER you have deleted my setups ByTheWay: As I recall then the one setup that goes full bananas as a cangaroo (even before you are going on track) ends with an "x" in the setup name. Start by just loading this one - because you will not get a chance to go on track
If I was even the slighest sarcastic then I would have answered you: Oh sorry that is really the most urgent answer to my post. But as always Im never sarcastic ByTheWay: I hope Im correct that there is 1x "s" and 2x "c" in "sarcastic". OK?
I've seen pages of comments about a flag being made the wrong way round from a certain developer so I made a joke about our national emblem animal
Then Im at least glad I didnt post a pic of the AMS2 cangaroo. Because as a national symbol it would pornobably have been considered pure blasphemy. Because it ends upside down
You did that intentionally, didn't you?! Back to topic: Thank you for your investigations. The bounciness of some cars is the reason why I don't play AMS 2 more often. I hope that Reiza can fix it in the future.
Our buggers used to eat our crops until we started eating them, we ended up getting the Emu's to plow in the end, those big chickens have some strong legs.
That's drop bears, really need to watch those guys, they'll rip ya face off. I thought you guys had unigoats I guess I should stay OT, all this kangamoo stuff has derailed this thread a bit. Renato is all over the dampening issue and is slowly fixing cars as he can. It's not a blanket problem so will take a bit of time to do each one as they pop up I guess.
IMO it was a combination of the the tire model, and the latest update to some of the damper models that improved the bounce effects.
