Automobilista 2 Mods!!!

    How do the physics files look? Is it same look at ams1? i remember nfs shift had similar looking isimotor physics files which you could edit in notepad. Is it the same case here? Can anyone take snapshot of for example chassis file which would have been called .hdv in rfactor?

    Here's a snap of chassis file. It's in hexadecimal code, binarized files. Virtually nothing is in text-editable format. upload_2021-3-21_23-49-55.png

    Ok thanks i see. If it is the same engine as nfs shift then it is in text editable format wether that can be seen or not.

    The Track may be on two of the images ?

    And eventhough this is a bit difficult to see then I guess these 2 lines are the cars right rearmirror. :cool:

    Mods no longer interests me... they are usually subpar to the real DLCs, since the devs art team are using the right tools, the right specs, shaders, rigging process, etc... and the modders usually don't have the same expensive or the same amount of "paid" time and deadline to accomplish the same level of quality for assets.

    Plus, it takes an insane amount of time to develop the proper SDKs, API, documentation, guidelines to properly support mods developer, which some of them don't have much experience. It chips away at the focus and the time developers need to continuously make the game special, vs producing 10% greatness and 90% garbage. Not worth it...

    this is also my general opinion on mods. but here the mods are really of exceptional quality.

    I don t agree with you at all... Not on AMS2 but on several other Race Sims I vê found Mods that are superior to the developers DLCs...

    I said "usually", I didn't say "always". There are a few good mods out there, but they are very rare. It's typically not worth the large level of effort and continuous involvement that is required from a Dev Team to support a proper SDK, documentation, testing, emails support, etc...

    If you knew the involvement needed for a modder to create a studio-like mod, alone without even the good tools AND for free, you would change your mind!

    But I have to agree, a lot of mods are absolutely hideous. If the game is too easy to mod, bad mods are coming. Here, we talk about a very difficult game engine to mod, we are not a lot to be able to mod it so we try to do our best.

    @robillard3381 Your last name is very French Canadian. You must be working in the game industry in Montreal, thus why you have the skills required for modelling/texturing/SDK experience :) Your stuff looks good, but like I said, VERY FEW, raises to the level required to match the in-game assets. You are a Mod Unicorn!

    Just modding this game engine since shift 2 unleashed back in 2011 (crap, 10 years already...)

    Good morning all. I see the great disappointment for the mods in AMS2. I understand. I don't really know much about it, but the engine of Project Cars 2 could not assure us the arrival of mods either, and yet today there is some content more or less well done. My question is as follows (I'm on what has already been processed but I haven't proven anything), Could we possibly transfer the tracks and cars from project cars 2 to AMS 2? Same engine, of course with sound, physics, damage and tire adjustments. I see Reiza are still working hard on tire physics, maybe punctures ahead. But it will be great if we can find a way. Another liver is just a question, I don't know anything about it at all. Thank you.
