Hi guys. Hopefully someone on here can help. I am currently using a G920 but the problem I have is every time I start the game I have to manually input all the settings for steering, throttle, brake, in game controls like traction control etc. The game won't save them which is annoying and having to go through every thing again just to play is becoming tiresome. I am currently using GHub, tried the LGS program but it was the same using that. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Check this path to see if you are actually saving your wheel (controller settings) If not, then maybe try Allow an application through the Windows Firewall. It sounds like your PC may not be allowed to save the info. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/695000249529401384/846391555652714516/unknown.png
Check that those .sav files have the current date that you tried to save them on. And, when you assign your controls, and then when you press the "back" button, do you see a yellow or white "save" icon appear somewhere on your screen? This indicates that the game is saving your settings. If it is, and you still have to input every time game starts, then I don't know what else it could be, except maybe some anti-malware app blocking the writing function. Try temporarily disabling any firewall apps, then try.
The date saved is correct. I've tried everything to sort this out but am totally lost now. I have used the LGS software and the GHub but it is doing the same thing for both of them.
Last ditch effort would be to save all your car set ups from the path below to some secure location for use later. C:\Users\your name\Documents\Automobilista 2\savegame\381742374\automobilista 2\tuningsetups Then delete the "Automobilista 2" folder in "This PC/Documents" Then re-start the Game, and it will re-build all those files needed. Then run a Steam Game integrity check. And, if all is ok, then try setting up the wheel once again. I guess "Good Luck" would be appropriate here. last question is: Do your settings "save" on other SIM titles? And, since there has been many reports about G-Hub not functioning correctly, I would un-install EVERYTHING associated with it.
You could try this also: If you are ever having trouble keeping profile settings to stick do this: Close Logitech Gaming Software Navigate to: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Logitech\Logitech Gaming Software\ Locate settings.json and rename it to settings.json.bak Restart Logitech gaming software and it will make a new settings.json Sometimes the file gets a little wonky and the software has trouble writing the settings to save. A fresh file usually fixes this issue.
@OP do you use the mouse to setup and save your wheel? if yes try to do it with your wheel (especially the "back" that auto saves your settings). good luck BTW i dont think you need to delete the whole documents folder just for the new controller settings. in \Documents\Automobilista 2 search for the file "default.controllersettings". thats what i rename to "default.OLDcontrollersettings" to have a backup which i rename back to normal or i delete if the new one works
Well I thought I had sorted it. I looked in the AppData\Local folder and found two folders, one was for the Ghub and the other for the LGS software. I had the Ghub software installed so deleted the LGS folder, then I uninstalled the Ghub with Revo uninstaller and removed everything associated with Ghub. I installed the last LGS version and everything was fine for a couple of days but then tonight the problem has come back! The same thing is happening in ACC now but oddly enough not in Dirt Rally 2 or AC.
I ran into an issue like this that was somehow caused by one of the newer NVidia driver releases. I never imagined a graphics driver could interfere with my ability to save wheel settings, but when I rolled back to an earlier version everything worked correctly again.
you can try again without Ghub or LGS running in the backround (disable "start with windows" in LGS options and restart your PC) LGS software (and/or Ghub) is not necessary to run everytime for your wheel to work correctly. it can only help you if you have any custom profiles with macros or rebinded keyboard inputs. and then you don't need those rebinds because most games (and AMS2) can take the binds direct from the keyboard or the weel or any controller connected without any LGS profiles. Ghub or LGS can cause problems when running so i suggest to turn them off. you can always change the FFB and DoR and calibrate the wheel from windows control panel.
when installing LGS (or Ghub) you install the driver for the wheel/controller/mouse whatever logitech product plus the profiler utility. the driver is necessary for the FFB to work, the utility is not. do not uninstall the LGS (or Ghub) because you will uninstall the driver and the software. we just dont want the software to run. do the test: open your LGS and from the settings uncheck "start with windows". restart your PC. without opening the LGS, search windows for "control panel" -> open it -> from the menu "view by" one the upper right choose "large icons" -> "devices and printers" -> right click on your wheel (or any other USB controller connected) -> "game controller settings" -> a window with all connected controllers appears -> choose your wheel -> "properties". voila! if, for some reason, you prefer to tweek the driver's settings (DoR, FFB volumes, report compined pedals or calibrate your wheel etc) via the software and not via control panel, you can run LGS or Ghub, do your tweaks and then close it from the system tray. i hope this helps. good luck ByTheWay™: in the right click menu of your wheel in the control panel there is an option to create a shortcut to your desktop. much easier if you change wheel's driver options often
Tried that and it doesn't work. Not only does it not work in AMS2 but AC, ACC and Dirt Rally 2 cannot see the wheel.
