I’m looking for advice with the GT4 cars. I find these cars are harder to drive than most others. I don’t use traction control in any other cars (GT3 etc.) but I seem to need it with the GT4 cars although I feel I’m using the same care when accelerating. When braking I find I need to brake a lot earlier compared to the GT3’s cars. I know the GT3’s have better brakes but I’m not going as fast in the GT4’s (maybe my thinking is wrong when you consider the weight). As far as comparing the GT4 cars the McLaren feels good and I don’t need to use TC but the others just don’t feel right to me as I find myself fighting to keep the car straight when accelerating and under braking. In trying to make the cars feel better I’ve adjusted the overall FFB Gain up and down but no luck and I’m not into making setup adjustments which it my fault but I run the stock setups in GT3/GTLM/Stock Car V8’s/Montana COPA/and all other cars as they feel good to me and I can come close to the top lap times found in the time trials. I find if I put Damping to 10 (normally at 0) in the FFB settings the Camaro and BMW feel better (I haven’t run the Ginetta or Porsche lately). My other FFB settings are Gain 50 as a base, LFB 32 and FX 28 then I usually bump up the gain 8-13% ‘on the fly’ depending on the car, this using a TS-PC Racer. So anyway I know I need more seat time in the GT4 cars but ‘out of the box’ they just don’t feel right (minus the McLaren) compared to how most other cars feel like GT3/GTLM/Stock Car V8/Montana COPA/and many others including the historic touring cars. I’ve googled this and in other sims people say the GT4 cars are easier to drive than the GT3’s but I haven’t found much on what is said about the AMS2 GT4 cars but maybe I’ve overlooked it.
FWIW I adjusted the LFB to 55-60 and they 'feel' better but they still aren't fun to drive to me but my lap times in the GT3's are a bit better with the LFB bumped up ...
Have you tried the G55 Supercup? I gave it a go for the second time a few days back, hadn't driven it since it was released, and I have to say I absolutely love it. It's become one of my favourite cars, it's not the quickest or the most nimble, but it is stable without being boring. You can chuck it around a bit without being afraid for your life, or drive it like a grown up. I really look forward to driving it. Granted I've only spent a few hours with it but if you haven't given it a go it might be worth a spin.
It's been a long time, like you probably since the release, but I will give them a spin, thanks for the suggestion. I used to like the GT5 Puma until an update changed them a long time ago I should give them a spin too.
